The Euro version is horrendous, but I'm really having fun with the Japanese version now...

thats bull, the only difference is you have lives in one and energy blocks in the other, it hardly makes a difference, either way the game still sucks.

No, I am enjoying it! As m3tall1ca says, there's a fair bit of difference in patterns - at least that's the case in what I've played of both. The Eurp version is hugely over crowded, and flinging the Flint works a little differently if I remember rightly. You don't have to charge it to throw it forward a fair distant in the Euro version, I think.

This game gets on my nerves. I kinda like the gameplay technique and the first levels a bit, but I hate when it comes to the free vertical scrolling. Tons of enemies, many of them shooting from outside the screen, too less visibility of the direction you´re heading...
I can only get past stage 3 on every fifth credit or so. And if I don´t get past it keeping a good weapon (not this weird Shadow Laser), I´m screwed on stage 4 either.
