Cave Shooting History - Thank you for 16 years, Hello 17!

Post by rancor »

Went on sale yesterday at noon (8/24 12:00pm Japan time) and sold out yesterday as well. Luckily I ordered 2 copies, and I may be persuaded to part with the second copy someday.. But the were 5,750 yen each! (USD $67.00). Put together a few photos for others to enjoy. If you want more photos, I'll be happy to oblige. Sorry in advance for the flash.

It's exactly 225 pages, and it has SO MANY good pictures. Also cool is that there are about 10 papercraft projects in the back - The one I have included is a recreation of the parachuting pigs from Muchi-Muchi Pork. Anyhow, the title of the book is the title of my message here.

Enjoy!

Seconded. I'll agree with Dragoforce on his post. Cave sure knows how to hire sexy 'n' busty models to show off their latest PCB offerings at the AOU shows. They must work with a professional modeling agency to get hired out for such high-profile promotional events, hmmm?

Thanks, rancor, for them cool pics of Cave's insider book. Do they have any plans to release it on amazon.co.jp as well or is it regulated to one of those exclusive Cave Matsuri events only?

I received my history book yesterday and just got a few minutes to peruse.

Wow.. what a GREAT book. To anyone with doubt, this isn't a loli indulgence wrapped in a Cave History Book disguise. This is a thorough document that details every game, every character, etc. There is a TON of concept artwork. There's a lengthy section that details the various promotional events that Cave has held through the years. This thing is really neat. Now if I could only read the text.

I'll work on this tonight. I'll post images of the full interview and post text as I translate.

It'll be slow coming with wifey (she actually offered to translate it :!: ) and new baby to care for every night, and perhaps some of the other Japanese speakers can help, but together I think we can do this.

edit: ok - Heres the interview in case anyone else wants to get a jumpstart on it:

Neat MMP Papercraft. Is there more of it? May be a good idea to scan it.

I know the one on the left is Queen Larsa's last pattern from Mushi Futari and the one on the right I believe is Hibachi's last rush from DFK, but what's the center pattern?

I bought mine here:
http://www.cave-shop.jp/
Where they sold out literally minutes after they went on sale. I heard they were available at the CAVE event 2 weeks ago, but theres no way I was gonna brave that madness. I haven't found any on any auction sites yet. I'm waiting to see what they'll go for so I can offload my second unopened copy at a beneficial price. 8)

Sold Out:

They'll be for sale at subsequent shows/online matsuri... guaranteed.

BTW, EOJ said he was going to hack out the Yagawa interview. This is of course before he read it, but you can check the Cave Matsuri thread at cave-stg.com

I love art books, even limited edition ones, but 150 dollars is ridiculous. That shit better be signed and have original art in it for that price.

Hopefully it gets a reprint at some point.

Looks awesome though.
