Please excuse the image quality
Come on, the quality really isn´t bad at all! You can clearly see everything and the slight flickering is ok, too.
Quite amazing how you dodge through some patterns while moving like crazy... Really seems a little too risky to me at some points, but if you can do that often enough without dying, that should be no problem. Anyway, great work, keep it up and go for the ALL! :)

Just watched your replay, It does the mine seems boring.
Very aggressive play the character seems faster in your hands than in mine. That second reflection in boss was ace, watched it four times. Keep other stages like this and you will do one unbeatable score.
You like 95% of peoples in this forum have better coordination to play shmups than me, but I am still good in plan.

I beat my previous score several times, but I'm totally pissed because I can't figure out why I still keep making so many mistakes (and I'm by far not playing as risky as in the video).
I won't post anything anymore.
The fun is gone, I'm only getting angry when I play and that's not worth it.

At least with me this is one normal feature after one time playing one shmup. You have one option: Change of game and return after 2-3 months. You will renovate you patience stock after one time far from this game.

Play Shikigami no Shiro. :D

abschüssig - 2,315,023,000 - Stage 5 - EHH - 90

A few less mistakes made this one possible.
And it was actually FUN again this time
I can't believe how pissed I was when I wrote that last post, I felt completely incapable.
There's still considerable room for improvement score-wise, but for that I need to make even less mistakes AND PLAY OTHER GAMES FOR A WHILE FIRST !

@third_strike: I really really like Shikigami no Shiro II.
Haven't played the first one, but isn't the second supposed to be superior anyway ?

abschüssig - 2,315,381,000 - Stage 5 - EHH - 90

I beat my previous score by an AMAZING 358,000
Still had 3 lives when I reached the second form of the TLB, but no bombs, so the timing was screwed up.

I rarely play the game recently, but much more relaxed than before.
Not getting mad when stupid mistakes happen, just enjoying.
That's how it should be :D

This one came really unexpected...
I thought the run was over score-wise after stage 4 boss, because I had no lives left for stage 5.
I'm slowly learning to milk the TLB more consistently.
The first form of stage 4 boss is the toughest part of the whole game for me.

finally catching up with this thread. i don't see a link to third strike's run anywhere, just a pic. can someone please post the link for me? i'm really excited to see this run.

@abschüssig

your first stage run is sick man! you really play aggressive! I noticed that you don't kill the enemies in the background at around 0:38 - 0:42 in the youtube vid. they fly from the right mid lower side of the screen to the middle left in the background. but when they reach the left side of the screen and are about to leave, you can shoot them down, not to mention, they can crash into you. i've tried slashing them to add to the multiplier combo, but i'm pretty sure it's not worth it. i haven't played this game in over a year so i don't remember exactly. but i KNOW you can shoot some of them down!

I may have to start playing this again after the excitement of this thread

Nice to see another person liking this great game !
your first stage run is sick man!
Thank you, it took some runs to get one like this recorded...
I noticed that you don't kill the enemies in the background at around 0:38 - 0:42 in the youtube vid.

I actually forgot about those, thinking that you can't kill them because shooting them would inevitably mean also shooting the ones in the foreground which you need for the multiplier.
But I just tried it, this is only true for the second wave of 4 enemies in the background.
The first wave of 4 enemies can be killed, that's right.
Thanks for the tip !
I may have to start playing this again
It's really worth it.
But only if your frustration tolerance is at least as high as the score you're aiming for
The slightest mistake in your timing can ruin a whole run (especially in stage 4).

1CC'd it today for the first time :D

Actually it was also the first time I tried to 1CC it, normally only playing for score and running out of lives because of the suicides at the two last bosses.
I did an accidental slash in stage 4, so there was no chance of making a good score anyway.
It's not a very hard game to 1CC.

Congratulations in All clear, new score and stage 1 best!
No much left to you beat me now. have you any score goal?
Sorry I can't help you now, I loose all my recorded archives and can't record replays now, plus this I am very busy in later days and barely I play something.
Keep on!

Thank you !
I have no score goal, I just play until I feel I can't improve any more, or until it's no fun any more.
By now I am pretty sure that with your and my strategies, it is not possible to reach the world record, not even with a perfect run.
This means that the world record holder has one (ore more) higher multipliers.
What do you think ?

How I said before I did x59 in first stage (this is hard but is possible do). Then would be possible around 450 in first satge.
You can be more agressive in stage 2 boss.
In stage 3 I can do 43 multiplier (this is not too hard).
But if I want beat my score now I will invest is stage 4. I did a bad stage 4 in my last score. Pretty sure is easier:
- Increase the kill rate.
- Reflect more bullets during the stage.
Catch more tokens.
- Maybe if I did not miss I would can get a higer multiplier by don't losing time and killing the mid boss faster.
- The stage 4 for boss can be improved in all places and I can put away the use of bomb in first life bar to get a new reflection and save a bomb to last pattern in last boss.
In last boss I can improve the second life bar reflections.

Let me say that I just have the notion of points when I am playing homura from I remenber even ''30,000,000 in encrease in any stage'' is lot of points.

What do you think ?

I did a bad stage 4 in my last score
I only found a few spots where I was able to improve it, and not by much.

I think the biggest potential for improvement is at the last two bosses (because of the many dense patterns and the x90 multiplier).
For someone who is skilled enough, it is possible to get very close to them in some patterns where you and I are far away from them and therefore do not get the reflection that is possible.
For example, in the fifth pattern of the second form of the stage 4 boss (the one that goes around him clockwise like a spreading spiral) you can stay very close to him when you fly around him in that small "corridor", so the second slash in that pattern is much higher.
I did this once, but it is too risky for me.
There are several possibilities like this in other patterns.
Maybe it is not necessary to have higher multipliers then, just many higher reflections.
I'm not sure.

Like I said just don't miss to kill more enemies.

Can you take a picture this pattern? I can not remember it.

This bosses is more about timer to reflection than skills mainly the 1st patterm in 2nd life bar of boss 4. Other you can try a new way of reflect the laser pattern in boss 4.
Cool!

For the first time, I reached the stage 4 boss no miss no bomb today.
Also for the first time, I got the x66 multiplier in stage 2.
It was by accident, but now I know what I have to do and can do it consistently.
Makes quite a difference, I had close to 1,140 billions at the beginning of stage 4.

Sorry, I can't take a picture at the moment, but can't you watch your own replay instead ? Or Kiken's at super-play.co.uk ?
I tried again what I explained about that pattern, and it is easier than I remembered from a while ago.

abschüssig - 2,393,362,000 - Stage 5 - EHH - 90

I lost two lives in stage 3 and made several BIG mistakes in the reflections at the stage 4 and 5 bosses.
This score could have been A LOT higher.
