Post by mjclark »

Haha PlatineDispositif's releasing a second set of kusoge archives this year. Murasame's getting lazy (lazier!?).

Not much really...

Besides the new Touhou game (which ironically, I'm not interested at all this time around due to the underwhelming UFO, which I never even bothered to 1cc) and the new Crimzon Clover trial, which will be put for download too...

Sora (next game of the Suguri series, it looks impressive compared to the previous efforts, definitely I can say it looks the prettiest, Suguri was damn ugly on the graphical department) and Alltynex2nd (the 3D isn't that high quality, in fact it looks terrible, but the whole movement, effects and bosses are dynamic as hell) are the two highlights.

There is Gigantic Army too, Ghegs put up a video of it. Old school Turrican/Assault Suits action with mechs and missile barrages. Maybe not something to "wow" about but it's damn solid.

The rest appear to be the same pool of Touhou-like clones and cutesy stuff.

Ah, yeah, Murasame and his archive is almost like the japanese re-edition of Gundemonium Collection.

Oh, Artesneit stuff too. Galshell 2 was brought back from the dead and now it's going to be released.

The author of Prismatic Solid appears to be selling the OST during Comiket. The guy should've ported the game to PC and sell it in the same fashion, heck maybe even trying Steam or DLsite...

It is delayed, well, according to the tragic google translate and the listings by other people:

http://yotsubane.blog99.fc2.com/

At least it wasn't cancelled like Stella Vanity. (yeah, you read it right)

The word about C78 is there's going to be lots of porns. Having fun going through the vendor portraits and looking for all the naughty ones.

More trial... Been like that for years but I prefer them to fix all the stuff they've been breaking recently. With each passing version the game looks better and more professional, yet the scoring and overall mechanics get broken more and more.

And, yeah, can't have a Comiket without 65%-70% of the booths being about hentai (and Touhou hentai doujinshi) and Touhou arranges. :P

The delay on Crimzon Clover is really frustrating but maybe it will just heighten the pleasure when it finally arrives. It seems weird that Yotsubane would not be channelling all available energies into producing a full (and profitable) version of a game whose trial was so universally acclaimed but I guess we've all got stuff going on,eh?

All excuses aside, I think he did a marketing move and tried not to get the game out when something like Sora and Alltynex2nd are coming out. On the long run, too much of the good overlapping can lead to bad things... Or something like that. I'm not making much sense, heh. I'm hoping he'll finish it this year. He has to. WE DEMAND IT.

Last year, one of the few remarkable releases were Armed Seven and Alternative Sphere. Pretty bad year on that field... At least this time around we have Siter Skain & Co. bringing out moar pew pew.

Syunsatsu Sare Do? just announced today that there will be a trial version of Super Mate Mate Laser ~Sky Stage~ released this Comiket. It's kind of hard to tell using online translators, so I could be wrong, but I think it's just going to be the C77 version again and will eventually be released as a web trial. http://ss-do.hp.infoseek.co.jp/

Nekomimi no Kakera will also be releasing a C78 demo of Crisis Divider -Device Lost-. It's hard to find any information on it other than this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC9TJ96wNqc. Looks like it was still in pretty early stages of development when that video was uploaded.

Only as a demo for now, though. Anyway, as for Crimzon Clover being delayed, yeah you might be right. Not only does Yotsubane have to compete with Sora and Alltynex Second this Comiket, but also with the new Touhou game, which could be complete shit and still somehow overshadow everything else.

As a demo? Wow. Galshell 2 surely looks great.

But I assume Yotsubane did a good choice by delaying, odds are ZUN isn't going to put out anything else this year (I hope he'll make a music CD though).

Also, the game by DNA Software is a fan game of Hellsinker (hence the "Shaft Diver", since the game occurs around a gigantic tower/needle-like structure called Cardinal Shaft, with Cardinal Shaft Central being the residence of that Total Karma Compressor System Called "Garland"). It even put the sewer system (segment 4 in Hellsinker, where you fight Rusted Dragon) towards the end of the video I saw.

Ah, saw Hayabusa too. Miku satellite... It looked quite nice though.

Dead serious. Sadly, at MoTK all they talk is about Cave games so it kinda went overlooked. I commented in there.

http://stellavanity.seesaa.net/

Check Tris-Gram blog. More like cancelled, it's like he can't continue development at the moment so he halted it. If this turns to be true, I actually feel it's because of the awful changes in the mechanics from 0.10 to 0.22. He should really have kept the old mechanics, longer (and maybe fewer) stages without trying to implement a confusing Progear-like gem mechanic... Or something like that, I just didn't like at all the latest trial.

But with doujin games you never know. It might revive like Galshell or Project Reflection (RefleX) or take 4+ years like Hellsinker.

Clearly there should be a doujin hentai shmup named "Shaft Driver."

Also, if you download it you automatically go on some FBI list.

Cardinal Shaft
Catholic schoolgirl themed sequel to Shaft Driver.

This is a bummer. I thought Crimzon Clover looked really promising.

Ia that the 0.2 one that is the most recent? That's the one I just downloaded by fallowing the original link. (okay, I don't think it is. tha date is old on it.) This game is really really good. I like the over breaker power mode. How come this game looks better than, well just about every other shmup I've ever played. And the demo has three levels? Nice. This is one really nice game, it deserves a full release in the end. I know I would be happy to mail order a retail copy. Yeah, this guy should be hired by any company that is serious about making stg's.
Edit: Damn, thought I was posting this in the Crimzon Clover thread.. Happy that it also has analog support for my pad, yes I'm weird like that. And, I can only get it to play in a tiny window.

Nope, the version at Comiket has restarts, opening skip, double break mode, and playable ship type 2, among other things. Really looking forward to it. I'm going to buy this when it comes out in full.
