Super Emotia II Problem!!!
I just bought a Super Emotia II. After using it for about 1/2 to 1 hr, it would lose picture through BNC output. The system itself doesn't shut down, but there is no picture on the monitor. If I turn it off for about 10 minutes, then it would work again but will lose picture in about 1/2 hr. I am thinking it is an auto shut off due to overheating, but someone told me this probably isn't it. Does anyone ever experience something similar on their Emotia??? Does anyone know what is the problem or how to fix it? Thanx.

First off sorry - this isn't going to be much help. But since no one's answered I'd thought I'd at least chip in and say I agree its unlikely to simply be heat imho. The emotia is not comprised of much really and mine have never really generated much/any noticeable heat. You could try removing the casing and having a look to see any signs of damage/heat or even try running it to see if that makes any difference without a case [in terms of heat build up].
I'd almost be tempted to say try another power pack - I'd think this would be the area where heat build up or faults over time due to running would first occur. If an emotia doesn't work then it probably simply wouldn't turn on. This doesn't mean this couldn't be the exception - but the power pack, however, would be my first port of call given the symptoms.
On that note I would also advise using a switch or similar to 'turn on' the emotia rather than pulling out/putting in cables... Again not that this is based on much, but it seemed to be how one of my power packs died [somehow]...

Hello,
If it stops outputting video, but the lights are still on, it probably isn't the PSU. It could be, but in my experience those usually either work or they don't. One time I got a faulty PSU that turned on and off repeatedly. The other defective ones I've come across don't do anything at all.
Good luck

hmmm ... its certainly a tricky issue - hunting down something that is 'breaking' but not 'broken'.
Apart from comparing and contrasting with a known working setup its a tough call.
When the video blanks out does it scroll at all, fade, color distort, or is it a straight clean blackout?
