Just a curiosity question...
I purchased yet another Raiden Fighters mobo+cart pcb from a guy off of craigslist (I know, very scary) and I was expecting just the good ole mobo+cart combo that we have all come to know and love. This freakin mobo is the width of the cart!!! Very compact, and I am loving it!
The version is: SXX2D V2.1 Japanese region
If someone has some super geek squad information about this (I'm guessing later) version of motherboard, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks!

Re: 411 on this version of Seibu SPI MOBO
Seibu Kaihatsu released both the original SP1 mobo and the smaller and more compact 2nd redesigned version mobo as well. Both work equally well since they both have the obligatory L&R stereo output via 4-pinout interface (which is what you'd want if your candy cab is capapble of stereo support from said arcade PCBs). Makes all the difference between listening to said PCB's BGM tunes & sound effects in mono or glorious stereo format.
Now, if you were to acquire one of those (all-in-one combined SP1 mobo + SP1 game cart) single-layer PCB setups, then you'd have one of those SP1 PCBs with the inferior sound chip issue + shorter BGM tune that loops endlessly on any given stage. (It was done to cut down on manufacturing costs, of course.) The typical Seibu Kaihatsu produced China region "Raiden Fighters Jet 2000" single-layer PCB is listed as an obvious example.

Here's a scan from the RFJ manual highlighting a couple of differences in the boards.

Re: 411 on this version of Seibu SPI MOBO
Aside from the size, the main difference I'm aware of between the SPI variants is that the SXX2D board doesn't require setting any jumper when you change cartridges.
Re: 411 on this version of Seibu SPI MOBO
Are you serious? That is awesome! I hated the whole jumper thing when I had RF and VP1!
Thank you for all the great info, gentlemen!!!
