Massive Failure Stories...

So, last night I was finally... yes finally, after at least two years of off and on playing. I was going to 1CC DoDonPachi...

Needless to say I was upset, but its not that big of a deal, I know I can do it soon. Does anyone else have good stories of Ultimate Failure? What really sucks is during some practice I successfully dodged the last pattern for a full 10 - 15 seconds. This time I ran out of bombs and died in two seconds..

Once, in Varth, I lost my last life in stage 17, because I tried to get the flag item but then the curvy bullet (from the medium-sized blue plane) trolled me. *insert Unreal Tournament 3's narrator voice*

This actually happened to me once as well.

Also those spinning cube things in Darius Gaiden appeared out of nowhere once (I think they only show up when your rank is really high and you spent too much time on a final boss) and prematurely ended a Hysteric Empress single-credit clear, on the final attack phase. I inserted another credit and she died in just a few shots.

damn that sucks. That was some serious dodging though Hand/Eye coordination overload. I will NEVER be able to do that...

In terms of sheer drama, you really can't top the last boss fight in this Nico clip.

I believe my 13 billion or whatever Follett 1.1 replay is still in the top 20 on the leaderboards, and is from ages ago. I got to Tyrano Satan with a full live stock and some how fucked it up.

Wow - that's incredible. I've had me hit 'game over' as a boss dies before, but never at a final boss.

All these videos are quite uncomfortable to watch, knowing the hope is about to be crushed so cruelly.

Haha yeah me too, I always laugh when I kill the boss but end up hitting a bullet at the same moment, but if that happened to me on the last boss.. oh man.

Might not really be 100% related but

A few weeks ago I reached stage 5 of DoJ for the first time in my life 1 extra life in stock

So I go for about 20 seconds till loosing my first life then about 5 seconds into my last one some stupid darn fly flies into my face and I drop the controler and loose my life.


I had about a 30 minute anger rampage battle with that fucker it was the retarded type of fly the one that just randomly flies around and collides with objects.

This has happened so many times in Dodonpachi aswell.

I cannot believe this is true considering I made that post today, but with CHi as my witness I swear this just happend:

I went down the arcade to play Fighting Hawk, which me and CHI have been racing to get the 1CC on. Neither of us had done it.

Then I made it through, killed the last boss in the game, and a stray bullet took my last life after the final boss's demise! Game over screen as the boss's explosion fades = No 1CC!!!

To make matters worse, CHI got the 1CC on the next fucking credit!

Brilliant fun though!

Started a credit of Dragon Breed, just wanting to beat the first loop. I no-miss it, keep playing just for lolz, ended up no-missing to the last boss. He was VERY close to dying, bu then I stupidly run into one of the shots and never recovered. That was heartbreaking. To this day I couldn't reach the last stage again.

I posted the inp in the Dragon Breed thread, if anyone is interested. I was thinking about uploading the run to youtube, but I haven't decided if I upload just the first loop or the whole thing.
