Anyone know American law?

Post by neorichieb1971 »

I have a transatlantic family and would like some guidance (answers) to a few questions.

If you have any idea on how American law works (apart from screwing the husband in divorce) then please contact me.

Thanks.

I have 2 friends from high school who are divorce attorneys. It was a very, very small school, too. :)

I don't know much about law, but I think you have the theme down: divorce is fucking UGLY in the US, and if you make the money (on paper), you are the one that is going to have to pony up. The idea is that everything is in the children's best interest, so no judge (or jury) will have much pity on you, even if your ex is a blood-sucking cunt.

But, with that being said, I highly recommend phoning a specialist.

This is about financial matters more than family matters. The divorce was long ago, this is like The empire strikes back scenario.. If it can happen.

I have put into action a request for people in the USA to look into my questions for me, but I'm impatient. My situation is too personal for it to be on a forum so i'd rather keep it between myself and the person who is the expert. My questions are quite simple and anyone who knows law there should be able to answer it.

You might find a lawyer w/ a help line. They're all in it for the money though.
I understand the personal thing -- hope it gets sorted. I'm not sure what all could happen if you're divorce and child payments are all done and dusted. Then again, I know dick on the matter.

I tell you what dude. My mother in law and her husband are both lawyers. If you just have a couple questions I can ask them for you.
