You might wonder why this particular scoreboard is already filled with names... I'm actually in charge of a mirror scoreboard on the shrinemaiden.com site, so I thought I'd just include one here as well.

The original IN scoreboard can be found here, along with some tips and strategies around in the forum.

You shouldn't do that, the scoreboard should only be filled with users WITHIN the Shmups Forum.

Ah, really? I guess my three boards should be deleted, then.

Nah, just erase the scores from non-members here and let us submit some scores of our own to fill 'em back up. I'd love to submit a few (lousy) scores for all 3 games.

says who? ...just you right. lol.

i dont think there is a "rule" about hi-scores listed having to come form "within" this forum. sounds silly to me to do that.

Leviathen leave them as they are. and PM a mod to double check. :)

There's really no rule against it, though the issue has come up before (the Ikaruga thread on the old forum) and IIRC the consensus was that most preferred to limit the Shmupsforum table to Shmupsforum users.

I said should, not have to, but that goes without saying, It's better to have the "locals" have their highscoew to not conflict with everyone else that's not even part of the forum. And because these 'strangers' have such insanely high scores, the chances of having us Shmupsforum users being on the scoreboard is really slim.

Suffice to say, the only person I know that's IN the high score that's WITHIN the forum is Leviathean himself. -_-.

Shoot, I thought that Andypro was also part of this forum.
I wonder where he hangs out then.

Yeah, I understand now why you would want only local forum-goers in your high score board. I think I would be a little disheartened myself if some of the super Japanese players posted their 3+ billion scores in my forum and simply left right after that. I figured that since my forum's scoreboard already had a lot of entries, that people here would then realize it's actually pretty popular, and start trying it out for score seriously. I can see that I lacked a little tact in that regard.

I'll zero the scoreboards then. Unless someone objects, I'll do so tommorow.

I wonder what the best way of promoting these games is? We need more traffic on the board, on the wiki, on the image board.

As for the high score boards, I'd say just direct people over to Shrinemaiden if they want to do that.

He's usually on Ikaruga.co.uk forums, and, maybe, TNL. I'm not sure about the last one.

Why not keep the shmups.forum table to the members here and if you like you could blend the scores here into the shrinemaiden toplist.
That we we can all be happy, right!?

Btw: Pentarou is a member here as well, is he/she not!?

No, I'm not. Or I wasn't. I do lurk a bit, though.

Of the highscores on shrinemaiden.com's bbs, I think at least half of us have shmups forum accounts. No matter though, may as well keep the charts separate :)

Nice to meet y'all.

And hey, you're always welcome at shrinemaiden.com. :P

If someone has a high score they want posted on shmups.com, they should join and post it themself. Posting other sites' high scores on Shmups.com is a waste of the internet, and is comparable to posting the high scores from superplays. "Hey, let's give these people a challenge, and post the scores from Ikaruga Appreciate!"

I haven't seen Leviathean post in some time...if he doesn't update after awhile, why not make your own thread for this game? I might submit something eventually...

I played this a long time ago, and I never really focused on it for scoring and whatnot. After seeing this thread getting its thread necromancy treatment, I decided to download it again and give it another whirl. I died a little after the beginning of stage 3...

Here's my score for the demo version:

ArrogantBastard - 100,190,570 - 3 - Reimu & Yukari

Yeah, a new thread would be in order since Leviathean hasn't updated it since July 17th.

I recommend that we should have seperate score board for each character this time, since this game like SNS; in which the character each got very different scoring charesterestic.

Yeah the main game seperates the characters on the score tables thus s should we. Saying that though I'm not entirely sure how many characters are with secret characters in all in this game since I've not had it for very long.

Hmm, seeing this thread made me want to post my HS even though I haven't played the game in a while. I'm not sure if I'm reading the results properly though, but it seems like it since I've played almost exclusively on normal mode. Just to clarify, the normal table is accessed by going to 'result', then 1st option, then second option, then character select, right? If so, here is my HS for normal:

it290 - 494,118,770 - Reimu & Yukari - 5 - 0.39

Yeah, not real impressive. I really need to play this game more, but it's always a pain to clear my desk and hook up the joystick to the PC. I do bust it out once in a while when there's downtime at work though... need to start bringing a pad into work again. In fact, I should probably check there as I might have a higher score on that machine.

st noticed somthing that if we were to make all characters have there own score board and on all diffs' that would mean there would be 16 tables and that's not before we go in to the extra modes that this game has or the demo high score tables either...

The board at Shrinemaiden doesn't separate characters, so I don't think there's any need to do it here either. ;)

Nice to see some activity on this front. I'm locking down this old thread, please direct all new score submissions to the new high-score thread instead.
