DEL wrote:caincan - The arcade is mostly fighting titles (very new ones) and usually about 4 shooters, mainly lent by us. But this works out ok, as we can rotate the very latest games (if we have them in our personal collections).
Sven told me at the German Meet that you have a warehouse full of games
yep, i visited the place ..about 5minutes running when i was in london (nearly missed my plane because i was lost trying to find the arcade ! ), before going to meet Sven's orgy. i have 1-2 minutes of DV somewhere i know of the Goodgecasino (nothing more than the youtube clip we can find). it's always a pleasure to see your joy about this place and the tricks you have to do to place the games !

sven is kind to flatter us  . one very good friend reunites in a small warehouse what i cannot stock/stack more, so it's not my total arcade shrine , we dont have that merit to be flattered i think :| (there are impressive places in europe : Vossens arcade, Isou in swiss, ). our stack -> http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... 94#p598094

My folks have plans to go to London in August so I'll see what I can do about getting here.

Also, I'm new at the forums, nice to meet you all! I'll try not to lurk, it's habit-forming.

Great to see Taylor, Rupert H and Chi 'Toby' Chi last night.

Chi's the leader on Fighting Hawk again, so I'm going to cycle into Soho now and try some more credits. I'll be there about 4pm if anybody is there...

Same. Casino can be dead a lot of the time, especially if you're looking for shmup players, so I'd check with this thread first.
It's most busy on Friday evenings.

Taylor's dead right about Friday's being busiet overall. However, a lot of us shmuppers meet there n Thursdays. Overall it's quieter as not so many of the fighter crowd are in, but for shooterists, that's often the night...

I'll do it now mate! I went back Saturday daytime for another pop, but no luck! I did improve my score after you left on Friday though. I made it to the final stage and those crazy jets rammed my credit away!

EDIT: Done!

True, I can't make Thursdays because I'm a pansy and if I go into London I'm shattered the next day.

Right - I've started a thread to see if we can have a decent Shooter Meet on August 28th and 29th of August.

Let's do it. It might be more like Meet 7.1.2 rather than VIII, but with enough effort, we can make it big enough!

Captain Spadgy, you're on duty!

I'm looking to reform Team Casino Royale for this year's shmup tourney as I've never taken part before. I've already registered under the Team Casino Royale name and put you down as Captain. :P

Anyone else want to join in this year?

Wicked! I've been looking forward to this for quite a bit, and it's wicked to have you on board Skykid. I know CHI's in. We should run it past Rupert H, RGC, MX7, Durango76, mr_m0nks and the rest.

Taylor said he was unsure, but we might win him round.

Remember everyone - we do our best, and have done OK before (two years ago we exceeded expectations), but we enter for fun and never take it so seriously it becomes a chore, so there's no bad feelings if you only have time to put in a couple of credits and a low score one week. It's about having a laugh and proving we can do well!

Gutted there's no ravid though. He's been our star before. Still - we can do it!

And I saw your registration Skykid. Shall we keep things 'Closed' for now just so we can invite the core members first? Could you change yours in that regard, before we loose the places to strangers?

I'm looking forward to this alot!

Oh, and I'll be voting for CHI for captain, to maintain the tradition that everybody fights not to be captain!

CHI FOR CAPTAIN!

EDIT: Registered. Also - maybe it's time for a new team banner! Who's feeling creative? You're pretty good at that right Skykid (no worries if you can't)?

I'm down tonight - 7.30pm. Fighting Hawks.

Actually fighting hawks would be the kind of thing I'd dream of when I was a 12 year old.

Hey team Casino Royale folks, I've gone and made us a little banner with a Batrider pilot and a legendary Japlish game quote. I took the liberty of putting it forward as we have no team banner represented on the tourney thread. If anyone doesn't like it/want it, I can do another or we can revert to the old one. Lmk!

Now it's my sig - tell me what the Japanese text says!

No time for me to take pics for the Avatars I'm afraid.

And I won't make it in to Casino this week. Two trips next week though!
