I can't believe that I like this show as much as I do. There's just something about the comic chops of Whitford and Hanks, and the silly writing. From the commercials, it looks *ridiculously* stupid, and while it sort of is...I keep finding myself tuning in for it. From the way-cool theme song (by Locksley, made especially for the show) to the silly "spinning revolver wheel" flashbacks to Whitford's crazy-as-can-be moustache, the show just works for me.
Bonus points for Whitford's total horndog approach to life, as well as his resistance to modern technology, and his love of his Firebird with cassette deck bedecked with Foghat tape. I'm *starting* to see some of Hanks' dad's comic ability, as well, but this show is Whitford's baby. It lives and dies with him.

I thought this thread would be about Shepard Smith and crickets chirping.

I secretly like this show. Very upbeat.
The ridiculous plot armor it gives the heroes is comical - in any universe remotely like our own they'd be corpses by the second episode. And then become zombies I suppose.
"So could you ever love a monkey, Liz?"
"It's certainly an improvement on the old look."
"...... Hey!"
Anyway, it's a shame it's on FOX and will be put down like a dog. Gotta make room for those reality game shows hosted by an angry British dude.
3-4 seasons, just enough for syndication, would've been great. I think it's very well suited to syndication..

That's a line from a UK comedy called garth marenghi's darkplace. Is there a link between 'The Good Guys' and garth marenghi's darkplace, or are you just quoting the latter for a laugh? Just curiousBryanM wrote:

I watch it too. Those gunfire effects every time there's a location update are a bit cringe worthy though.

That's not a comedy it's a horrifying hospital horror drama *madangryface*MX7 wrote:That's a line from a UK comedy called..
Uh, but I said it 'cause it's the kind of line the sidekick would have to use if he ever became a zombie.
I wasn't aware of it when I originally posted it, but his love interest also happens to be named... Liz. Which might have been why my subconscious brought it up. I hate my subconscious - never know what that guy's thinking...
But that's where the similarities end. That I'm aware of.

Indeed, the inclusion seemed somewhat somnambulistic! Just thought I'd enquire.BryanM wrote:That's not a comedy it's a horrifying hospital horror drama *madangryface*MX7 wrote:That's a line from a UK comedy called..
