Limbo- XBLA

Post by evil_ash_xero »

Just though i'd start a topic about this game. I downloaded the demo, and it kind of got me intrigued enough to get the whole game.
It's too bad there isn't a way to rent downloadable games, because this would have been great for that. I don't really see myself playing it much more, but it was pretty interesting the first time through. And I understood it, unlike Braid, which I never did quite grasp. The ending is anti-climactic, but I kind of liked it anyway.
Great presentation.

Got the game, it's damn great so far.
Replayability is pretty low though, but it has its fair share of great moments.

Great physics platforming puzzle game thing. I like the presentation too but it was pretty irritating at first because you really had to pay attention to the small field of view (hurr beartrap). Sound world is pretty sweet imo. The secrets are fun to find out on your own and apparently there are more than just the ones you get achievements for.

I'm dying to play this but I'd have to buy a Microsoft games machine to play it.

And this is a problem how? It is the current shooter system, doncha' know?

Seriously though, Limbo is a great game. For what's there, it should honestly be an 800 point game. Considering it's basically an independent venture though, it can be overlooked. I want the people that worked on this to get their due as they did a great job on it. I'm still trying to get that achievement for beating it in five or less deaths.

Have you guys found any of the eggs (bulbs, whatever they are) that aren't part of the achievements?

Its a grudge thing. Microsoft just converted upteen million PC users to become console users. The typical type of game on that platform is your FPS type of game. Shooters are not typically released in the UK and i have 4 cabinets to justify so I just don't do the 360 shooter thing. I've only held a 360 pad once and it didn't do anything for me. The failure rate of the console is up there with Titanic.. I think it goes 1) Titanic, 2) Xbox 360 3) American brand cars. An internet cafe that is filled with XB360's sounds more like a hair salon, just put a HDMI socket on a hair dryer and people could be fooled into believing its a 360. The best thing coming to the console is some Natal thing where you argue with a kid who hasn't done his virtual homework. I spend about 48 hours a year playing games on console due to the repetitive nature of the games released these days. But I do like the look of Limbo, it has charm, great fantastic animation and a dark gloomy atmosphere
