my first Psikyo first-loop clear

Post by professor ganson »

Finally did it! Very pleased because Psikyo is my favorite, but their games are generally just too brutal for me to have a hope of finishing. Finally found one I can hang with: Sengoku Ace. No dodging skills needed, really. You just need a good plan. Anyway, couldn't help but share.

Nice! Good job on that, it always feels great to get a new clear. Try and clear it a couple more times while your skills are up on it.
What's next?

Sweet! Good job Prof. Those Psikyo games are a bitch for me. I always wanted to go for a Gunbird 2 1cc.

Yeah, I thought I might try to make some progress in the second loop, but this game was stressing me out. I'm glad to be done with it for now, even though I could improve my score substantially. My next 1cc target is probably Shikigami no Shiro 2, but for now I want to play some Slap Fight/Alcon, Xevious, and Varth.

Good job, Sengoku Ace was my first Psikyo one-loop clear as well. I tried challenging the second loop but I never even made it past 2-1...those Psikyo loops are murder.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Aine. Super powerful, with a nice bomb, and perfect speed. Highly recommended.

Great stuff. I've still never focused enough on a Psikyo game to get near a first loop clear. An enviable achievement!

Good going Prof, saw you'd posted a second loop score in the HS forum.

Very nice Prof. Way to keep at it.

If I could clear at least 1 Psikyo game before I die I would want it to be Strikers 45 II.

Yeaaahhhhhhh
Congratulations! :D

Now go for some other Psikyo regulars such as Gunbird, Strikers 1945 and Sengoku Blade before you venture into Strikers 1945 II.

I've been bouncing between him an Tengai. Sometimes I find a faster ship gets me into trouble rather than out. I usually snuff it around the 1-6 boss.

IIRC, My first (and only) Psikyo 1cc is Strikers 1999. 2-1 completely overwhelmed me though...
Not sure when will I get my next Psikyo 1cc... But pretty sure it will be Dragon Blaze.
