So your opinion is that of someone else's. That's fine. But no, you needlessly go out of your way to come up with ridiculous terms that nobody can relate to to provide an "insightful" opinion--one that isn't even your own. Way to attention seek.kid aphex wrote:because there's only so many times an opinion can be parroted before that collection of opinions gets boringElixir wrote: How about you just say what you think of the game... like everyone else has?

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
Funny how I like DP's fire, explosions and overall presentation best of the entire series. DDP's explosions are okay but nothing special, whereas DP is up there with Gradius II's first stage in the fire department, and with Raiden DX in the destruction fetish department. The devil's in the details; I'm not quite sure myself why the sequels didn't recreate that glamour, but it might have something to do with the heavy usage of pre-rendered material (and of course DDP's indistinct - to put it mildly - sound setting).GaijinPunch wrote:Actually, ESPRade was the first to use it at all, and that was just the characters I believe. If I'm not mistaken, Ketsui was the first time when it was used exclusively.moozooh wrote:Close to nothing. Cave has used pre-rendered 3D for at least 90% of its sprites since DonPachi, not sure where the hand-drawn comment comes from. 15 KHz is short for "240p or close to it".
i would've just said derivative, but that wasn't the energy i felt like putting out there.Snake wrote:kid aphex wrote: anyways, since i just made the word up (ouroborosian), i think its only fair i define it
the ouroboros has been traditionally accepted as representing the cyclical nature of all things, sure
but since traditional images of the ouroboros are static [non-animating], variation/similarity between cycles isn't really spoken for
still, ouroboros = reality, and
looking around at the process of reality as it unfolds around me, its pretty easy to see that any given 'moment' is a product of all things before it, rearranged in such a way as to feign novelty
i suppose i'm just trying to suggest this game doesn't feign that novelty so well ... and as a result, its easier to recognize its roots
So it's like earlier Cave games because Cave made it, but different because it's new?
You are right. I'd rather play as a magical girl or a crosdresser than another numpty corporal or sargeant (I wonder why there's so many of them in games of all genres; it's not THAT desirable occupation in real life). Sonic Wings is my kind of game.Snake wrote:Yes.TaygetaVendetta wrote:The "no more lolis/anime girls" etc comments: Does it really matter what we pilot or what the game's theme is, as long as its fun?
This is true. Ceph was, and probably still is if he's still running the empty tomb that is the 2D gaming forum, a complete twat.Strider77 wrote:Be glad you didn't run into Ceph before the ban... Actually, I don't think Ceph has been banned, at least not permanently. I seem to remember that he recieved a temporary ban, and never bothered to post again after it had been lifted.Strider77 wrote:Be glad you didn't run into Ceph before the ban...
This is also the case in Ketsui. Not an easy game anyway.HamidoOs wrote:Is it just me, or do the enemies' bullets really feel low-speed? (or at least the bullet speed doesn't feel CAVE'ish)

That's probably because he so desperately wanted to be promoted to moderator status he couldn't take the shame.Herr Schatten wrote:Actually, I don't think Ceph has been banned, at least not permanently. I hear you, but it also seems only fair to throw some Forgotten Worlds in there with all the lolis. Give gay beefcake fans some j/o material as well as the anime pedos.Obiwanshinobi wrote:You are right. Is the reflecting mode unlimited or something?? The more i see it the more i want it. While I don't like human bosses (reminds me of Shikigami no Shiro) they all look really cool to me and I love their summoning (when battle vehicles enter the action). I just can't wait to know and see how many more stages it has. Moreover it would be also interesting to know if it'll have more than one loop and maybe a secret boss.Mero wrote:Level 3 including the boss

Reflect mode uses the green bar. It can be built up pretty ridiculously fast if you get your option close to enemies. It definitely seems kind of sketchy right now, all of the scoring mechanics revolve around you being invincible.Phellan Wolf wrote: Is the reflecting mode unlimited or something??
