The Last Starfighter game

If you liked the movie you'll love this. Seems to play like Starblade with a movable gun turret. I have a problem with it on Windows though because the screen flashes white a lot, also you need a dll file to make it run. Still not bad.

EDIT: Fuck, there's a thread for this already.

Video of canceled TLSF arcade game

Post by gameoverDude »

Atari Games/Tengen "The Last Starfighter" arcade prototype vid

This video is by Jack Morris, who was on the team for this game. I can't believe this is a 1984 game- it does look on par with Starblade and may well have inspired Namco when they went on to do their title. There is no sound, but at least you get some idea of what this one looked like.

It got canned because Atari's president didn't believe that a $10000 arcade game would sell... yet that is exactly what Hard Drivin' cost. This game would've probably had a "Quarters Only - 75 cents" sign on it in arcades, but it looks like it'd be worth it.

The 16-bit consoles likely couldn't handle it (look how Genesis Hard Drivin' turned out- ugh), but a home port would've been great to see as a 32-bit launch release.
Kinect? KIN NOT.
