An amazing replay
An amazing replay
Right.
I've watched my fair share of shmup superplays, and I've had pretty much all of them in my hands at some point. The one that has always impressed me the most (next to the guy 2-alling DOJBL, unrivaled in terms of awesomeness) is this ridiculous double play of DOJ. I know most of you must have seen it somewhere, sometime, but it's just too awesome to pass up. Here's a link to the last part:

Re: The most amazing replay
I'm not really as impressed with a double-play in which the player stacks both ships on top of each other the whole time. Double-play only has a POINT when the two ships are moving independently.

Re: An amazing replay
I'm really interested in seeing some 2 player superplays, where both players 1cc. Anytime I play 2 player, it turns into a credit feeding nightmare. In my friends defence, he's getting better, kinda..

Sorry, but I still found it impressive.kengou wrote:I'm not really as impressed with a double-play in which the player stacks both ships on top of each other the whole time. Double-play only has a POINT when the two ships are moving independently.

Re: An amazing replay
That's the same one that's up on super-play.co.uk, right? It's really awesome. There's also a Ketsui doubleplay up there, but it doesn't show the players hands unfortunately.

Re: An amazing replay
I feel that I'm familiar enough with these types of games, not an expert by any means, but I know this game aint easy.
From what I can see by the video, its one player manipulating two ships!? Thats still very cool/impressive. I'm not sure I could do that well.(with one ship) Needless to say, I don't even own the game in question. Probably never will...
No, I do like the game.
For all those people who think thats chump shmuppin', lets see you do better. Nah, thats not an insult by any stretch, consider it to be a challenge then.

Beyond words.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
Re: The most amazing replay
Here here! that was cool. Even if they are stacked being coordinated and ambidextrous is no small feat.Dave_K. wrote:Sorry, but I still found it impressive.kengou wrote:I'm not really as impressed with a double-play in which the player stacks both ships on top of each other the whole time. You actually expect someone to move the two ships independently?? What he is doing already requires godly hand eye coordination.
The path to Heaven is ridden with bullets of Hell.
Re: An amazing replay
wow I've seen 2 players replay for other games and assumed there was an application to "link" the 2 players.
Can't believe 1 player uses the 2 joysticks ahahah.

I'm aware of the freaky perversion that's going on here. I figured this would be a good time to mention that I'm looking for some hot tag team action.

Re: An amazing replay
If you are referring to those lame youtube videos by Warblefly41, then yes, he is just using mame to map both ships to a single joystick input.Aguraki wrote:wow I've seen 2 players replay for other games and assumed there was an application to "link" the 2 players.

Re: The most amazing replay
this just doesn't compare, especially when you don't even need to actually dodge except for maybe a few things on the last boss. I'm not surprised this overrated shenanigans already came up in this threadEbbo wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ToBdzV7w ... re=relatedKrondelo wrote:You actually expect someone to move the two ships independently?? Re: An amazing replay
I wasn't even comparing it to DDP DOJ replay, just pointed out that controlling two ships movement independently isn't unheard of. Granted there are much better examples of Ikaruga's double-play, such as VTF-INO Chapter 4 video here he chains the whole level - I just wasn't able to find a proper video with his hands showing.
Re: An amazing replay
yes,it wasn't said what method he used so I assumed mapping, which is useless I think.Dave_K. wrote:If you are referring to those lame youtube videos by Warblefly41, then yes, he is just using mame to map both ships to a single joystick input.Aguraki wrote:wow I've seen 2 players replay for other games and assumed there was an application to "link" the 2 players.

So I'm pretty impressed by the OP here.

That's the DDP DOJ BL DVD right? I've never seen it, I've heard his skills are the stuff of legend.Ravid wrote:HFD?Skykid wrote: I love the way everyone, no matter how good they are, dies loads on the TLB.
I didn't know he took out Hibachi without losing a life though, holy shit.

Re: An amazing replay
This is impressive because of his feel for the sticks to keep the ships from not getting too sloppy while avoiding bullets. I don't have arcade sticks but when i play raiden this happens all the time. I always touch one analog too much and my ships get disoriented and i lose a life on a passage of bullets.
