the only real reason I still play gunwange even though I suck at it, is the fact the music is very good. though I've never considered Guwange to be a shmup, but I guess it is?

Guwange is most definitely a shmup. So are Gun.Smoke and Undead Line.

only on tues and wens it's a shmup
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Define "shmup". Didn't think so.

Doesn't matter what my definition is (I avoid the term altogether, usually). According to the shmups forum, Guwange is on-topic just like ESPRade, Gun.Smoke, Elemental Master, Undead Line and Guardian Force are (and Contra and Space Harrier aren't... nor Donkey Kong 3 for that matter).

I think this will be Cave's true gauge for worldwide interest in their stuff, even if the gameplay style differs from their norm.

I don't like buying non-physical games, but I'll make an exception for this.

Along with Dangun, which I just don't like at all, this is the Cave game I've played the least.

Any news on the release date? I really hope that cave decide to release it on DvD with a few more extras. I can't stand digital downloads.

All I hope for is no latency and a good filter. That's it.

Cave is porting this one themselves, so you should expect the same package as with Galuda II and Death Smiles without the HD graphics. The "wobble" effect of Ketsui won't happen in Guwange. Ketsui's running on a PGM with extended vertical resolution, while Guwange is true 320x240 (like ESP2 and DS).

I've always said Guh-wang because i'm white, it's easy and well, because of Rob's Pro Reviews. But realistically the breakdown should probablybe:

Gu - wa - n - ge

Gew - wah - n - geh
