When I motion left and the options are lined up,why does my character slide all the way straight to the left side of the wall (or into enemies if they're there)? Is this some weird quirk? Intentional? First I thought it was my controller, but I tried 2 different ones and same deal. Thanks.
You've just got the platinum edition haven't you??? Have they included some downloadable content?

GameStop Taking Reservations For Otomedius Excellent

In February we wondered if is Konami seriously thinking about localizing Otomedius after discovering a US registered trademark for Otomedius Gorgeous. The answer appears to be yes.

Two tipsters sent an e-mail telling us GameStop is taking reservations for Otomedius Excellent. I followed up by walking into a GameStop and reserving a copy. According to the retailer, Otomedius Excellent is available for Xbox 360 and scheduled to come out on September 8. It’s a full price game at $59.99. We realize retail listings aren’t always accurate and the dates or price may differ, but a game this obscure wouldn’t be appear in a database as an error, would it?

I'm tempted to plunk down for this just to show support, but at full price it's tough to forget that I'm not a huge Gradius fan to begin with, and Otomedius isn't particularly well-liked even by Gradius enthusiasts...I think I'll wait for more info.

Otomedius has a billion of in-jokes and references which I didn't get since I'm not a Gradius fan, and knowing Konami it will most definitely be region locked.

The online co-op is fun but that's pretty much it, honestly. All my runs ended at 2-3 (egyptian stage) because there's so many suicide bullets from the rolling tombs, which you're actually meant to avoid and not shoot, but of course with online co-op that never works out.

I still really like this game, although I can't imagine it being successful in America at all, especially if it's a full-price game.

They really need to make a sequel to this! It was a popular game in Japan, but now it's all but forgotten, they really should have milked the hell out of it with expansions and sequels while they had the chance.

A good number of Konami's US Xbox 360 releases (Rumble Roses XX, Dance Dance Revolution Universe 2, Dance Dance Revolution Universe 3, Hellboy: Science of Evil and Silent Hill: Homecoming) can be played on NTSC-J machines, which may be good news for those people with Japanese 360s. Of the US games that are region locked, Asian versions exist which are in English and can be played on NTSC-J machines. The Japanese release is loaded with Japanese text (even the menus) so hopefully this one will be compatible with NTSC-J machines. Releasing it at $59.99 is suicide though. It's going to bomb big-time. I wonder if it will be compatible with the Japanese touchpad joystick?

I'm excited, even though I just got my J360 so I could play my release day copy with my joystick (The money finally opened up)

I made a chart for anyone who needs help tracking how close they are to that grind-tastic achievement.

Added a 2nd page for the eventual American release, of course, who knows how much will carry.

I have a question about the replays. I'm having trouble watching the top score replays in Gorgeous mode. It seems like I was able to download them from the scoreboard and I have them show up in my replay area but whenever I try to view them a grey screen comes up with a lot of text that I don't understand.

I'm playing from a US silver account. Do you have to have a gold membership or a JP xbox live account to watch the replays?

I was able to watch replays from a JP Silver account. I can try watching from my US Silver account later tonight if you'd like.

Please do. I'd like to avoid signing up for another account if I can. Thanks.

So.....
I haven't found anything conclusive about this anywhere, so i'll ask:

What's in the Otomedius Gorgeous Platinum Hits edition that's not in the original release?
Is it exactly the same?

I think so nothing has been added if you are asking for some of the extra DLC content. A friend of mine got the platinum edition and as far as he could tell nothing new was added (he compared it with my first print game).
You'd better wait for Otomedius Excellent.
