Assuming you get the same game, reportedly not (if memory serves). There's another PS shooting game (and a really goofy racing game).

Don't quote me on this, but I somehow recall a few minor presentational differences (i.e. one version's voices and sound effects were spread around a bit differently) - other than that I'm not aware of any major disparities. As GP says, though, be aware that the PS1 has two different Bokan shooters ("Bokan to Ippatsu" and "Bokan Desu Yo", plus the aforementioned racing game "Bokan GoGoGo"), while the Saturn only has "Ippatsu".

Bokan De Soyu doesn't save high scores . There isn't even a high score table so once you lose your last life your score is gone, there's no opportunity to even write it down.

It's not something you'll see the "hardcore" types fighting over high scores for, but I think the games are fun just to play for the heck of it - goofy animal mecha, even goofier characters piloting them, nice big explosive weapons, a bicycle built for three, all good stuff if you don't need to take every game you own super-seriously.

I wouldn't rank it in my top 10 shooter list, but i still think it's a fun game. And the music is just awesome! I take it it's from the TV show, but im not sure as i havent seen it. Guess it's a game aimed more towards the casual shmup audience rather than the hardcore score chasers.
