LS32 too short or too long??????

Post by neorichieb1971 »

Hi guys,

I have a cab dilemma.. I have a New astro city that i've got one LS-32 on the 1p side and some other joystick on the 2p side. It looks like a JLF I think with clear plastic gate. The mounting holes are much smaller and closer together than the LS as well..

Anyways, I spoke to Bloodflowers recently about my LS32 being too short and he recommended LS extenders. I got 2 from emphatic but now its ridiculously tall. Its about 3.5" above the CP.

I don't know what to do next. I've got 2 LS mounting plates ready to go, but i've got the tall short dilemma with that.

The joystick on the 2p side is the right height, but its a JLF of which I only have the one mounting plate.

I'll take a look at gremlins website to see what they have got.. Any ideas what the best way is?

Can someone identify joystick in picture 2?

I am guessing joystick 2 uses plate 1 in the above pic. Looks like a JLF-P1 mount as well.
Cheers..

Stick in pic 2 is indeed a Sanwa JLF and uses mounting plate #1. The LS-32 uses mounting plate #4. It would need #5 but that would only work if the bracket on your CP can accept it. Remove the stick and check/post a pic.

I have 3 or 4 of plate 5, they don't fit.

Is this the joystick I need?

I'll just buy one of them to replace the LS and be done with it. All my shooters are on the other vert cab, this one is hori, so I doubt i'll care much about them being Sanwa.

In that case you cannot possibly mount an LS-32 properly on that panel. Some panels (or rather some brackets) are like that but I'm sure that Astro CPs with LS-32 compatible brackets do exist.

Both my astros have different panels. The other one has different mounts and can handle LS-32s fine.

On this one we are talking about, I can get the LS-32 in there fine except for one screw, because the 5 pin connector sits directly in front of it. Apart from that the only bad news is that it sits high or low.

I just buy these things expecting them to fit. Nobody has done a 101 on Astro CP's from that what I can tell. I'm a virgin finding out that my bit doesn't fit every hole and its costing me a fortune testing out on hookers.

I'll just buy the JLF. My next question is if mounting plates come standard with every stick. Gremlin didn't get back to me today.

The measurements for the sticks and mounting plates are all available in the respective Sanwa and Seimitsu catalogues, and also on akihabarashop.jp.
