Droid's SoCal Shmup meet: Saturday July 22nd 2010

Hey there SoCal'ers,

I've been in a state of suspended animation far too long, so I'd like to extend an invite to those in SoCal to visit and play some games

Date: Saturday July 22nd 2010
Start time: 5pm
End: 10pm Ish
Location: Garden Grove just off the 22 fwy @ Brookhurst Blvd. 30 minutes from riverside...45 minutes from LA...1.5 hours from SD..

Games lineup: I have 3 Candy Cabs and can offer some old school (but very fun) shmups: Bosconian, Defender, Time Pilot, Time Pilot 84, Scramble, Gyruss, Galaga, Sky Shark, Twin Cobra, In the hunt, Raiden and Phoenix.. Also have a few cave titles to throw in for the bullet hell folks if requested.

In addition, I also can offer the following classic dedicated arcade cabs: Afterburner Deluxe, Assault, Asteroids Deluxe, Battlezone, Burgertime, Crazy Climber, Crystal Castles, Dragon's Lair, Marble Madness, Millipede, Punchout, Rampart, Sinistar, SmashTV, Warlords.

Sodas provided. We might take a dinner break and grab some eats nearby or order pizza.

I'm really bummed out that I can't make this. A good friend of mine just moved out from Florida and we've got some celebrations planned pretty much all weekend. Hopefully it won't be too long until you can host another. Have fun you guys.

I'll list pcbs I have soon, so ya guys can get an idea what you'd like to play. I would like to get some Scramble, Timepilot and Bosconian in though, mebbe a high score competition for each of those games, if that sounds good to all

Thanks Dewman, I'm actually missing 8 cabs that are being restored or awaiting delivery: spyhunter sitdown, pole position, starwars, missile command, t2, tempest, qbert and the Fonz. They will be missed hopefully they will be ready next time!

lol thats awesome. 1CC's of cave shooters is tough...but I'd like to see someone 1CC SmashTV! It qualifies as a shooter right? Funny ya mentioned soldering irons. Just used one to solder in the time pilot high score save kit. Its ready to go
