Had a 1-5 score. Wanted to beat this at some point. I'll take some runs later.

Gonna give this game a try.

Momijitsuki - 302,100 - Stage 1-2

I'd have a higher score if I didn't keep dying in the damn upper right corner here. How do I survive when it's backing into me like that?

EDIT: Never mind.

EDIT2: Disregard that last score.

Momijitsuki - 617,700 - Stage 1-3

I'm actually enjoying this.

Ruldra - 2,273,200 - Stage 1-6

I like the difficulty curve of this game, it doesn't get stupidly unfair on later stages.

X Multiply
DEL - 8,600,000 - ST14

One life clear to final Stage 14. Sorry no proof pic, as I scored this in Casino arcade in the late 80s. Stage 14 is nasty. There is a nico replay of a Japanese guy doing it, mostly staying forward to clear the pod generators, which if left alive spew out large amounts of virtually indestructable erratically moving balls. Death on Stage 14 is not an option :? .

Especially because you have to play the whole stage again, even if you die on the last boss. Pretty annoying :?

Yup, I remember surprising myself for 1 lifing to 2-7, but when I smacked into one of those erratically moving balls it didn't matter how many lives I had remaining :? . Stage 14 (2-7) has got to be one of the very most difficult recovery spots ever.

Thanks. :)

I'm trying to finish this, but 2-7 is really rough. The ball dispensers apparently can't be killed. (With a powered-up ship and the invincibility cheat on, I tried point-blanking them for several seconds. They still wouldn't die.)

For anyone who's interested, here's a helpful Nico 2-ALL:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5

I unintentionally timed out on the 6th boss, but I'd like to learn how to do stage 7 before trying to come with a new score..

Finally beat the second loop. 2-7 went well; my initials, less so.

Awesome. Well Done :D

I guess you stayed at the front of the screen for most of ST2-7?

Indeed. As soon as the first ball leaves its dispenser, I try to fly under or above it, thus staying on the far right. If you don't take this opportunity, you can expect to find yourself trapped on the left half of the screen: pic

On another note, 1-7 and 2-7 look like the best places to leech. You can score over one million points per life if you suicide before killing the last flying face. Much easier said than done, but I'm guessing this is how the WR holder got over 18 mil.

Thanks for the tip. I'd only try it on 1-7 though. 2-7 is too sick to start messing around with :? .

A small improvement. If you don't kill Hydra right away, you can milk its projectiles for thousands of points.

Someone is going for the WR! Are you suiciding and replaying the last stage over and over again?

Post a pic of your score plz.

I'm interested to watch a good replay about this game :)

On the web (you tube, nico nico) there are little videos with low score.

Yeah, I burn all of my spare lives in 2-7. It took a while to hammer out the details, but there's a pretty safe route through the level.

I'm afraid I didn't save a pic of my most recent score. I can record an inp within a few days, if that's an acceptable substitute.

Here's a sample inp. It plays back in WolfMAME Plus 0.83.

I only leeched five of my six lives. An earlier attempt was fumbled at the very end, and I really didn't want that to happen twice. :x

excellent replay!! Thanks :)

16.000.000 (this replay) + last ship 1.000.000, total = 17.000.000 pts

then is possible leech (I think) last part of final Boss and use double K.O. technique: 100.000 x 6 = 600.000 pts

remain 800.000 pts (leeching in other stage I think....)

No problem. :]

For more points, I could get every item (1,000 points each), leech Hydra more efficiently, destroy all of Darya's parts, and kill more popcorn enemies. I hadn't thought about killing the last boss and suiciding at the same time; I'll give it a try later this weekend.

I'm terrible at these types of shooters. I'll probably come back to this in awhile.. I kept playing Last Resort..

This game is awesome. :) Hoping to get the first loop clear soon, but the vertical section in Stage 6 is wrecking me.
