I recently acquired a Sunset Riders board that I'm running on a DIY supergun. I have pots on my RBG lines (don't remember the values at the moment) and for the only other board I own, Strider 2, I'm able to get the color perfect.
With SR, I can't get the colors anywhere close. I think there is too much green for me to tame, though it's hard to tell. The best I can get it after playing around for a while is a very redish picture where the picture seems to have a bit of flicker to it. Almost seems like the color output is too strong for the tv.
Do Konami boards, or Sunset Riders in particular, have a hard time with superguns? Or did I just get a faulty board?

Some older arcade PCBs have been known to output such high RGB levels. Even Cave's PGM-based PCBs like DDP-DOJ, Ketsui & Espgaluda are known to have overly super high RGB output levels.

Now I've got an additonal problem. It's saying on of the EEPROMS, 15B is bad.
I hope the two problems or related.

15P is a serial PROM that can be reset by holding down the test switch while powering on the PCB.
Re: Problem with Colors on a Sunset Riders Board
Hey, thanks, robivy64 . That cleared up my EPROM error.
Still don't know what's going on with the colors. My supergun is also not outputting any sound. I've got to borrow a multimeter to check, but I don't think the audio is grounding out and the connections are solid. Maybe there's a problem with the 12v that could be causing some visual problems as well?

+12v won't affect colours, it's likely your TV just can't cope. As for the sound, do you have sound on other games?

No, the sound went on all my games so it's definitely the Supergun. I'll get that sorted eventually, could just be the jacks shorting out against the temporary cardboard case they're mounted in. (Waiting on getting a dremel from a friend to cut the holes in a proper project box, but put this together in the meantime.)
I've tried SR on two televisions. Sometimes now when I turn the game on it appears the vertical sync is off and the picture will roll. Most times I don't get that problem.

I was just doing some more reading, and I think maybe I need a sync cleaner.
I'm using a Neobitz encoder and apparently they have some compatibility issues. I haven't seen anything about Sunset Riders specifically, but people did mention some other Konami games. Could be worth a shot.
