Only if you play on PSP. You can play those games on PS3 where all of this does not apply.ryu wrote:Problem is having multiple PSN accounts (US+JP account) on one console doesn't work out too great. You have to completely reset the system whenever you want to switch accounts, and can only play the games linked to the currently activue account
you'll also have to redownload every game after switching. So just getting a japanese PSN account probably won't do if you already have some games from another (eu/us) store.
That's bogus. I dunno about the PSP, but on the PS3 having PSN titles from multiple accounts works like a charm, you don't even have to switch account to play.ryu wrote:Problem is having multiple PSN accounts (US+JP account) on one console doesn't work out too great. Dunno about the PSN emulation, but it's a good port. Read the review.bob wrote:What can be said about the quality of the ps1 game compared to mame?

Disc based games are locked, downloads aren't. They work fine on any PS3 console.njiska wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the PS One Classics still locked to their original region? As in your German PS3 won't play them.
It has a slowdown button (as in "slow the game down")... might not be a good choice if you're wanting to play competitively.bob wrote:What can be said about the quality of the ps1 game compared to mame?
It's a few hundred yen for most titles, depending on the publisher and game. Of course things like FFVII are more expensive than the rest (mesh control wrote:how much do these cost each?
It used to be a chore to go back and forth between accounts on PSN. Having PSone games from US/HK/JP. But if you have CFW, you can get PSN Manager VLF, and it saves the account info and lets you switch between which regional activation your PSP is.ex.machina wrote:Only if you play on PSP. Could you have individual memory sticks for each region profile?tearsofash wrote:It used to be a chore to go back and forth between accounts on PSN. Having PSone games from US/HK/JP. Unfortunately for the PSP it's really a little bit pain in the ass. But there IS a kind of "easy" solution:mesh control wrote: Could you have individual memory sticks for each region profile?
Like, one has all your downloads from JPN network and another has all your US/UK downloads? Would that make it a hassle?
I really want to download DDP since I have more time to play games on my PSP than on consoles.
alastair jack wrote:They should introduce another redundant hurdle, you can only play shooters if your account says your age is between the age 20 and 24.
There are lots of guides online if you are struggling...bob wrote:Thanks for the detailed info ex.machina.
Currently I'm struggling with creating a japanese account... damit
Most likely no. If you take your memory card out, all your account information, wallpaper, and other info is still in tact.mesh control wrote: Could you have individual memory sticks for each region profile?
