Earthquake in Canada!....
So I got on Yahoo! Mail to check my account, and found this story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100623/ap_ ... earthquake
Not a big one, but still! Then again, we had a 4.0 earthquake once here in Colorado. It wasn't felt at least in the southern Denver area, where I live.

I live across lake Ontario from Toronto, so we felt it here. I was on the crapper at the time. It seemed like my house was picked up about a foot and dropped. Kinda neat. Most people didn't notice..

A few people here in Detroit, Mi. claim they felt it while they were getting mugged by dudes with pants on the ground.

A 5.0 magnitude earthquake would demolish about half of the buildings in Wayne County Michigan. Hundreds of homeless would become double homeless.
Re: Earthquake in Canada!....
ya...i hardly even noticed it....some co-workers did though.....
with all the g20 shit going on here this week, my first thought was an explosion downtown, not an earthquake.....

If you live in California which is considered earthquake country with it's various faultlines including the infamous San Andreas faultline, the "Big One" still hasn't happened yet but it's coming sometime in the foreseeable future.
I do recall the crazy Loma Prieta based epic-center earthquake back in 1989 that rattled the nerves of native San Franciscans/San Jose/Bay Area. The odd thing was that I was 90 to 100 miles away from the epic-center where I felt it very strongly. It was nuts indeed with the ground literally shaking back and forth horizontally.

It was fairly strong here in downtown Montreal. Certainly the strongest earthquake I ever felt. Didn't like it much. At the time I thought maybe a bomb went off a few blocks away.

You pump a round into your shotgun, and get moving.
I was in the middle of a local curling match, when during the 9th end it happened. Operation counterstrike was in full effect and our last rock was thrown for a loop. We missed the double raised take-out by millimetres (see World Cup 2010) lost by 1.
Rather, I'd like to say the Quake rolled me up and out of bed. Prime time to wake up, 1:30pm EST I say. If only.
I was watching the USA/Algeria game, just before the winning goal by Donovan. I thought the neighbours washing machine was going bananas but it seemed too quiet. Pardon having an interesting taco with fondue later in the day, easily the highlight.

I'm feeling earthquakes from 8am to 5pm everydays at my work due to the huge machines we have inside that 100 years old building so yeah, I didn't feel anything particular. It's not like a couple of more road cracks and holes will make a difference here in montreal anyways

I seem to be too calm around explosions, this is probably bad
The main support beam is sinking in the house my apt. is in, and seems to be getting worse. I thought it was the house colapsing. I just didn't want to be found dead on the toilet.

Michigan had its own minor earthquake last year, wasn't it? Plus we had a "Big One" (i.e. a small one by West Coast standards) like 38 years ago. California can keep its earthquakes, its debt, and its babies.
