Nice score. List updated, and capped at 50 (until the bottom score reaches 500,000).

Enhasa's score at #42 is a duplicate.

Small update, but that much closer to 1mil. Won't post again until the first loop is cleared, at earliest.

Did I do this right? Do I need to provide an image or anything?

Hoping to move up a few spots soon...

I don't think the Professor requires proof pics, at least for us lowly first loopers. You should put a comma after the third digit for formatting though. Glad to see someone else playing this beast. :)

Cool, thanks BIL. I took your advice and changed the formatting.

This was actually my first vert shmup, and a great first board to own. I just got Galuda, so that'll be getting some attention for a while, but I'm definitely going to have to come back and try to up my Dragon Blaze score.

Why the hell does Imageshack make us sign up now, seriously
Aaaaanyway, first time past the extend - it sure is in a strange place. I love the feeling where you die and think it's game over, but you got an extend without realizing it. Fun game, would have made it to Stage 6 if not for derpbombs and dying to the dreaded mouthlaser (I assume that's a right of passage for Psikyo fans).

Yeah... kinda starting to realize that. I think I bomb too much, and I can handle the tanks in Sand without dropping a bomb to save my ass. I have to save bombs for tech bonuses...

Fucking first form of Stage 5. Come to think of it, fucking books. Got this after an hour or so of restart hell; need to savestate practice.

I don't get it. Is nobody else playing this anymore? I'd feel bad to do more than double post, so I'll just share this.
Stage 6 is hell. The eyes are a huge wall; I can't see how to do the right one without a bomb.

Good job, and over a million too. The last couple of first-loop stages have been quite the wall for me.
RNGmaster wrote:I'd feel bad to do more than double post, so I'll just share this.
You can just copy your last post, then delete it and repost an edit if it's bothering you. It'll bump the topic without adding another post. But I don't think anyone minds successive posts in HS threads, certainly not when you're improving!

If you're okay with studying replays, check out SYO's 2-ALL 1LC at http://super-play.co.uk/ for a good method of no-bombing the 1-6 eye midbosses.

(edit: just checked it - I'd forgotten how authoritatively SYO kicked the shit out of those things... as with most of DB's mid-to-large enemies, you've got to smash them before they can cause too much trouble)

Probably not going to be taking this further for a while. The last few stages are hell at high rank (and probably low rank too).

This game is insane, just started playing it today and got crushed over and over. This run with my high score was just lucky.
I'd go for Ian because of his speed, but I need panic bombs. At least for now.

Yeah, this game is great. All the sweat was worth it. Wish I could 1-ALL though...

Nice score for a first-timer!
Ian also has a great charge attack when separated from his dragon, but it takes forever to charge. Works wonders on the Stage 5 and 6 bosses though.
He only gives a slight edge in scoring, but I'd say it's worth it since the only situation where you'd need to bomb is during midbosses and bosses, so you can take them out w/dragon shot. Otherwise, just memorize enemy placement and be there with your dragon shot. The key to Psikyo games is killing enemies aggressively before they totally overwhelm you, so take out the big tanks in the Sand stage and the books in Stage 5 ASAP.

What a fiendishly difficult game. Bombed my way through stage 5, died at the boss' second form. His patterns seem to have fairly generous holes so I don't think he'd be that bad with a little practice.

Somehow I haven't seen this before... (post-edit? :P )
Thanks anyway for encouraging! I haven't played Dragon Blaze much longer than that day, somehow I got too distracted and also a little frustrated. I know the necessary "kill the dangerous enemies before they overwhelm you or if possible before they even shoot" tactics from Gunbird 2 and Strikers 1999 already, but it's on a whole new level in Dragon Blaze.

I think after STGT I might have the choice between a couple games (Dragon Blaze, Mushi, ESPGaluda or continuing on Zero Gunner 2), don't know what I'll pick. Nevertheless I'll come back to this rather soon.
