I need to get Slap Fight MD for the Megadrive.

Cost as much as the PCB board.

This was a great review. It was nice to see your hands and have some text too there. I could understand all of what you were saying however. I thought it was kind of funny when your hands lept from the controls as you lost lives. I hope this isn't one of those games that electrically punishes the loosing player.

Well done sir.

No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Are you sure Masahiro Yuge did the music?

I always thought Tatsuya Uemura did the music for it.

I know Tatsuya Uemura was one of the major composers for Toaplan along with Yuge, but I'm fairly sure it was Masahiro Yuge... I guess I'll have to check the credits to be sure.

I know Yuge did the Sound Effects for Slap Fight, but I always figured Uemura did the music for the game. Of course I could be wrong.

But then again Uemura is one of the best arcade music composers I've ever listen to in my life (Yuge stuff was great in Truxton I, II, Fire Shark, and V-5, but it just can't compare to Uemura's scores).

nice review linked in the original post. :)

I wanted to put this link somewhere, figured this thread is as relevant as any other Slap Fight thread.
Back in 2006 Bandai produced 4 plug and play systems called "Let's! TV Play Classic"
Each system contained two classic games and arrange remakes.
The 4th and final release included Kiki Kaikai and Slap Fight.
The Slap Fight arranged game is called "Slap Fight Tiger." Slap Fight Tiger had the player controlling the Heli from Tiger Heli and also includes enemies from Space invaders.
A pretty rare game and quite awesome for fans of Slap Fight.

Most sites have Yuge marked down, but I think someone else entirely is credited (at least in the Mega Drive port, regular game).
Fire Shark can't compare to Uemura's scores
What? Easily one of the best Toaplan soundtracks of all time.

Cool review, didn't know about the stage warp trick. The "helper ship" part sounded familiar though, must have slipped my mind from hearing it back in the eighties. :o
