Battle Garegga- Saturn- Saving Issue

For some odd reason my Battle Garegga won't load my preferences and high scores when I turn it on. Every single time I have to go into the menus and get the options the way I want them.

It didn't used to do this, when I used a back-up memory cartridge. Then I moved the memory to the Saturn itself. And now when I turn the game on, it gives me some Japanese text in blue, and then the game starts, without any of my preferences or scores loaded.

What's weird, is that the Garegga memory is on the Saturn, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything.

Ideas?

Sounds like you have to replace that CR2032.
Have you tried if other games have the same problems?

No, not really. Just seems to be Battle Garegga.

But I will try and change the battery, and see if that helps.
