Whats the story on Psikyo Amusement Works?

Post by Mills »

This has probably being discussed before but i never checked. Just curious to what has happened with the developers, and programmers behind Psikyo. Are there rumors or plans for some of them to form another company and start producing games again like what some of the former developers and programmers of the former Toaplan did in forming Cave?

There was "X-Nauts" (or whatever that company was called) but I'm not aware of much else related off the cuff.

I'm pretty sure X-Nauts are Psikyo's successors in the legal sense only, with most, if not all, of the original talent gone. It would be interesting to know where the staff that left Video Systems to form Psikyo originally is today.

Cave should hire the lead guy (like they did with Yagawa) and make him produce Gunbird 3. (Naturally, the cast will have to be all female, though, with huge boobs attached to each character, including the robot.)

Yeah that seems to be typical trend that goes on in japan.

Yes, a proper sequel of Gunbird 3 with some more new characters and crazier arcing storylines/endings between all the characters (including seperate storylines/endings for all the characters when in playing in single player mode) to outdo those presented in Gunbird 2 is the only way to go. Only if Psikyo had done GB-3 instead of Dragon Blaze as their very last official arcade PCB release, we'll never know how some of the classic characters featured in both Gunbird & Gunbird 2 are doing these days. Expect a new gameplay mechanic feature and new Psikyo-like trademarked scatterfire bullet patterns to be included in this new GB-3 release as both are a given.

What is the blue colored witch known as Marion & her rabbit sidekick up to these days? Has she grown up and finally matured into a fine & fully-figured lass with plently of eye candy? The answers to these pressing questions and more would be answered if GB-3 was coded/released. Makes me wonder if Psikyo envisioned it's Gunbird series to be a trilogy like with it's Strikers 1945 series. Hmmm...we'll never know.

Though the idea of a Gunbird 3 is indeed tantalizing, I would not wish to see it in place of Dragon Blaze. Dragon Blaze is simply awesome.
