Ys- The Oath in Felghana

Post by dai jou bu »

Anyone played this gamebesides me? This game uses the Ys VI engine to remake the story to Ys III, although the amount of gameplay content in it feels like Ys VII.

In short, it rocks. All of the music CDs included with the first print run of this game is also neat as well.

If they bring it in Europe, I'll be very happy:

I, uh, bought it but I don't have any room on my HD to install it.  I'm going to be buying a new computer fairly soon anyway, so I might just wait until then to clear out stuff and get it started. I'm really looking forward to it though, since I love Falcom.

So here's a boss from that game that feels shmuppy. They should've restricted me from jumping in this fight.

Then again, if I couldn't jump, I wouldn't be able to hit the boss.

A bunch of the bosses in Ys I and Ys II Complete feel pretty shmuppy too. Falcom's done that for a while... although they've only made one actual shmup - Star Trader - which is old as hell. I really want to try it sometime nonetheless.

Has there been any mention of this set coming to North America? I'd import it for the music alone, but it would be sweet if I could understand the story, too

Agreed, just about every boss in Ys II Eternal was like this when you used the fire magic.

Play Ys III on an older platform, and you should get the gist of it. Besides, these stories aren't that complicated.

I have played it many years ago, but would still like to see this remade version translated. I think I may import this set anyway, just to get all the music.
