Modern Gen List of Exclusives (PS3, Wii, 360)

Post by dial911 »

I would like to compile a list of games that are exclusive to specific current gen consoles. These games should generally be considered by the gaming population as being great to top tier (8-10 on a 10 point rating scale):

PS3 has millions.

Killzone 2
That other FPS game that I can't think of that has aliens in it.
That wacky 3D everyone goes golf
Infamous (10/10)
Heavy Rain
Uncharted (9/10)
Uncharted 2 (9/10)
Modnation Racers (9/10)
Last Guardian
Gran Turismo series
Ico/Sotc collection (coming next year apparently - see other thread in off topic)

Just to name a few.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

The list is only for games that are currently out. Not for expected top tier games :)

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue did not make the list with a score of 79.82% from 70 reviews.

And the list grows bigger...

Just list the exclusives (not that many anyways) instead of relying on subjective measures like review scores. There are such things as underrated games that don't get the scores they deserve.

Are we also including downloadable titles and DLC expansions?
A game can be exclusive among the consoles but there might be a PC version. Are those games still "exclusives?"
Please keep a Master List, so people don't keep reposting the same games.

New Additions

PS3
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
Resistance
Resistance 2
Ninja Gaiden Sigma
Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
Folklore
Time Crisis 4
White Knight Story
Wipeout HD Fury
Warhawk
Little Big Planet
Motor Storm
Motor Storm 2
Valkyria Chronicles
Yakuza 3

Xbox360
Halo ODST
Alan Wake
Metro 2033
Gears of War 2
Splinter Cell Conviction

Wii
New Super Mario Brothers Wii
Punch Out!
Muramasa the Demon Blade

There are quite a few abysmal exclusives. I would rather reserve this list for the cream of the crop. Underrated games can be debated and justified for the list.

The Gran Turismo series is one of the most widely followed in all of gaming. It's score of 79.82% on gamerankings is a very accurate general score as it brings quite a bit of data into the equation. It's score of 79.82% is fair therefore it cannot be on this list.

Absolutely

Did not make the list:

Folklore 76.19% - 62 reviews
Time Crisis 4 60.51% - 53 reviews
White Knight Chronicles International Edition 66.31% - 56 reviews
Yakuza 3 79.73% - 52 reviews
Metro 2033 78.26% - 66 reviews

File those under underrated then.

All those are really good games and nobody is gonna look up every game they are gonna post to suit your score fetish. I don't see how Gran Turismo 5 Prologue can't be underrated because it's "well regarded."

360

Kameo: Elements of Power
Banjo & Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

both scored just over %80 according to gamerankings. Despites it's rather low review scores, as a great (and a possibly one of the last examples of) traditional turn based J-RPG, Lost Odyssey (360) must be included in such a list IMHO.

First off - fuck you.

I wanted a general consensus of gaming opinions. It's pretty obvious when a fantastic game is not well received by the masses (see shmups). I do not regard Time Crisis 4 as being cream of the crop, neither do other people with it's average score of 60.51% from 53 reviews. Regardless, I have created the desired section.

*Edit - Oh and by the way. Post up every game you think is good enough. I have been looking up every game anyways so you haven't had to put much legwork in (if it's really that much of a chore...)

Thank you for being so considerate to people trying to point out potential flaws in the uber list.

Don't you think that light-gun games are badly received too? Most people who know their light-gun games would definitely rate TC4 much better than the mainstream average.

Folklore is a great game too. Scored badly but that is not the consensus of most of the people who have played it.

God Hand, although not a next-gen game is one of the best games ever. Mainstream consensus be damned.

Look - You need to have some sort of metric when creating lists of anything so that they don't get out of hand (I'll put my favorite game on that list!!!....). Please read the metrics for this list at the beginning of the thread! If you want to create another thread and keep the list up to date with all exclusives then be my guest! I would also like to point you towards the following line at the beginning of the thread:
For the lesser known games let's debate.

Because I said
That mainstream review scores are a horrible metric for anything but mainstream games?
That you're splitting hairs about .5 or less of a percent?
That popular games can also be underrated?
That some games are underrated and that they should be up there with the best?

Not to get involved in the mudslinging, but from just a quick look at your list, I have a very hard time believing Espgaluda 2 and Ketsui are as highly regarded as Mass Effect. Just sayin'.

I see you editted your first post so you don't come across as a cock (even put in *Please... sniffle).

I'm not willing to argue much further and I like the line you added to your initial post:

Let's just list the exclusives.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom for Wii.
Warioware for Wii.
Little King's Story for Wii.
Viva Pinata 1 for 360.
Viva Pinata 2 for 360.
3D Dot Heroes for PS3.

If you're including downloadables, there are a shitload for every platform.

Seems weird to could upgraded ports/collections like God of War and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, but I guess so.

It's a simple enough thing to go to gamerankings and apply some search filters then run down the list omitting ports - you could have done it yourself in ten minutes. There doesn't really need to be a discussion over the entries, just the fanboy squabbling between the platforms.

Anyway, this confirms my belief that all the consoles are around about the same quality-wise. Most expensive generation ever, though the games are overall worse than last gen.
IGMO - Poorly emulated, never beaten.

There's the Ace Combat 6 release that came in the just the game alone and limited edition Hori Flight Stick 2 joystick/throttle/rudder bundled set variants for the XBox 360 back in 2007. Namco could've released it for the PS3 but did not.

Even the exclusive PS3 d/l of Gran Turisimo HD is cool to own/play with support for all the different PS2 & PS3 Logitech/Logicool produced force-feedback steering wheel periperhals. Looks awesome in 1080p fomat despite it's intial December 2006 release. There isn't any mention of GT-HD on the GameRankings.com site whatsoever.

Wii:
Red Steel 2
Nights: Journey of Dreams
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Wario Land: Shake it

And some people would say
Battalion Wars II
Elebits
Dragon Quest Swords

I also love all the Bit Trip games (downloadable), and they seem to be pretty well received by reviewers
