You suck for not watching Dexter. I never gave this series a try because the person that was after me to watch it pissed me off daily at work. She wanted me to like it, so I passed on it. Once I finally caved I blew through everything on Blu-ray and now I can't wait until August.

BSG was awesome.. so much so that I hated to see it end.

Watching Dexter has it's twists and spins...be sure to watch for the devious "Trinity Killer"(played by veteran actor John Lithgow) & his encounters with Dexter. He was hilarious in the tv comedy sitcom "3rd Rock from the Sun" series back in the 1990s.

I thought season 6 was pretty bad - and the ending was awful. The flash sideways didn't mean anything - if you ever feel like rewatching the show there are huge chucks you can skip because it's pointless. Ambiguity is quite easy to do in films and tv, but it's rarely done very well. The fact that everything wasn't answered wasn't so much of a problem - it's what they did show was... not that great. A light that needs protecting... We don't know why, the cause of the light, the reason for the light - that's ok, but if you want us to care about it we need more than a few words. Turning "Locke" human so he can be hurt... seen that before... too many times.

I was hoping that Jacob and his brother were some kind of representations of philosophical though/ entities that played out different games using the island. That Jacob had made that cool giant to lure ships to the island, to see what happens. But no, they just had a nutbag mum (awful episode that one)... I don't know, I had high hopes about different theories on time, space etc, that kind of stuff - thought they might do something original with the format (like the ending of the Soprano's) - turned out to be just another sentimental tv show. With dumb religeous overtones.

At least the dog came back.

It meant exactly what it was supposed to. During the hiatus between Season 5 & 6 the writers said they were going to get back to what the show was originally about: character development. And that's about all it was.

I agree w/ you though about the Jacob/MiB episode. The delivery was awful. Children shouldn't be allowed to attempt to act.

My local cable botched the finale, so they're rebroadcasting it in just a few minutes from now. I'll probably check it out, though it's an understatement to say that my interest has waned with every passing season.

I think we're actually on the same page here. I don't think this is popular opinion since the ratings picked up towards the end, but I thought the first season and a half was amazing (meandering carnie stuff), 2nd half of season 2 was pretty sucky (too much focus on that preacher and good vs evil). The two shows got compared a lot, which is maybe unfair to Lost because it wasn't going for the same thing. Wish there was a show nowadays with the kind of atmosphere of Carnivale or Twin Peaks. Michael J Anderson wru...

I don't follow developer commentary or any of that crap, but I got the impression that the increased pace and focus of the end of season 2 was due to ratings pressure, and despite not liking it, I would have given seasons 3-6 a good chance. Actually it was more that I was caught by surprise by the cancellation since HBO had never cancelled anything before and I felt ripped off. Then they went on to cancel all their expensive period stuff like Deadwood and Rome in favor of cheaper shows like Entourage and Big Love.
