Just going by the name, this is obviously the greatest game ever conceived.
I was actually quite let down when I had one some years ago. So much possible awesome, but it doesn't actually contain Batman :(

False advertising - if I buy a game with Batman in the title, I want Batman to be in it.

I like it. It has it's similarities to metal slug games but it seems to play bit smoother and seems a little easier initially too. Not having grenades kind of messes me up, although the shield is nice.

It definitely has the same degree of awesome detail that metal slugs have. There are people who diss it because it isn't metal slug, but I like both.

It's really "Ninja Baseball Bat Man" rather than "Ninja Baseball Batman" since the main underlining theme deals with baseball and not with the DC comics related character of Batman. I'm sure Irem would've had to go through proper channels to get an license agreement to portray the Batman character IP in NBBM anyways (not to mention paying royalities to DC Comics on whatever profits were earned from the sales of NBBM conversion kits if the Batman character was portrayed in it).

There is that Atari Games reelased Batman arcade game conversion kit that came out back in the early 1990s. One of my local arcades had one set up in a typical Dynamo cabinet upright for arcade gamers to try out. I've personally played it a few times when it was up and running.

Yes, the game's title screen says "Ninja Baseball Bat Man", the flyers clearly say "Ninja Baseball Bat Man", and the only place I've seen it spelt as "Batman" is in MAME. It seems to have been a mistake made when it was added, and never corrected.

Its unemulated, perpetuating the myth that its a Metal Slug clone, which it isn't. So don't bother if you are expecting a credit feeding good time. On the other hand if you want to see what a Cave style chaining platformer plays like, then pick this up.

And when you get bored of it jonny5, I'll take it from you mate! (I still have to submit my score for this game over at AO don't I?) I'll dig it out soon I promise!

On the subject of the Drift Out series, is the very first top-down one any good?

I've got it in my cab right now but haven't put much time in on it. Pleasantly surprised at it though. I heard Neo Drift Out isn't as good as this? Any comments to that? I was going to try and search that one out in a bit.

I'm not a huge Slug fan - I think they went downhill after the first - but my brief experience with Demon Front was that it was repetitive and tedious. It was a brief experience though (about 30 mins) so it could turn out to be a revelation. In terms of instant enjoyment I preferred Dolphin Blue straight out the box.

I played demon front at the show and got up and walked off after about 6 enemies, blllehh

Probably a lot better than any slug after 3 though.

ive only played it in mame, tbh it makes me dizzy

it may be down to the emulation but the way the camera pivots around your car.....i get the spins :x

ive heard/feel the opposite...that neo drift out is the most polished of the series, but '94 has more tracks.....i have a fully working NDO bootleg cart if you want a cheap cart to give a go...or trade even for something cheap and interesting 8)
bloodflowers wrote:How much is Drift Out '94 worth? I have one I might sell.
not too sure....dont wanna ruin this for myself( ) but the only times ive seen it up for sale was 7500yen with copied art from sophia corp and somebody had one listed recently here for $50 that sold fairly quickly...figured it went to spadgy 8)

only times ive actually seen it for sale

lmk when/if you have a price in mind and if interested in any possible trades..if only interested in cash you should take a couple weeks to decide on a price....heh heh

jonny5 that was me who got that one. I saw it for sale on Neo-geo.com last year for the same price I think, maybe even cheaper, like $40 from The Chief I'm pretty sure. I had just instituted my shmup embargo and told myself don't do it, then I'd been kicking myself every since. I also just picked up Thrash Rally which is another joystick racer. I'd say Drift Out 94 is better so far. I'd like to try out Neo Drift Out and Over Top soon as well. For some reason when I go to the Super Auctions here in St. Louis, I always end up playing some horribly converted cabinet with a joystick racer in it, lol.

OverTop is rad, my favourite out of the 3 neogeo driving games. Most people prefer driftout and its close for me, but I ended up getting rid of both in the end :)

ya...im a sucker for joystick rally games....love 'em!!

if you dont have it already, get world rally.....its awesome(and cheap)!!

the graphics are kinda meh(developed by gaelco) but the gameplay is fast and tight....

tbh pretty much everybody but me who comes to my house to play games prefers it over neo drift out because it steers more like a car rather than tap-dodgy like NDO....its also wheel/pedal ready with dips to switch between that and stick/buttons

great 1000 mile rally is pretty dope too(and again, relatively cheap)...more flashy than world rally, but i dont find it plays as well...havent really devoted that much time to it yet, but the steering is...weird....different anyways...and you can spin out if you hold turns too long, which is kinda annoying....this one also lets you select wheel/pedal or stick/buttons via dips as well......

i plan to grab this soon....along with thrash rally....
