Hi, I downloaded the Aliens Vs Predator GOLD XP/Vista Fix
AvP-xp-fix.zip (MyAvP.exe)
From here:

And I managed to get the game working with compatibility mode Windows 98, just fine.
However the CD-Audio will not work. I have tried inserting the CD-Audio CD on all my CD/DVD-Roms & even used a CD-image via daemons tools, it will just not work.
The FMVs work just fine though.
I'm Using Win XP Pro English SP-3.
Is there any way to fix this and play this game with full level music?
Thanks in advance

Is redbook audio for other PC games working? I recall hearing from people that the connection from the CD drive to the computer may make a difference. This may be a game that requires analog out (or whichever it is) straight to the audio system, instead of simply using the data ribbon cable to play the music as any modern cd player will do.
The cable should look like a simple cord, just a few pins, if it's connected. If there's just a wide ribbon cable (or the newer SATA version) it's just a data connection, which the game might not be set up for.

I haven't played this game in years, but I want to say the Gold edition worked straight out of the box on my XP machine, no special settings needed. I definitely didn't use the fanmade patch you linked to, but I may have downloaded the last official patch. The service packs may have changed compatibility, though. Did you try running the game before applying the patch or setting a compatibility mode?
The audio CD would never play in-game for me if it was in my CD drive, but it would in my DVD drive, maybe because its letter came first.

I may have something to do with a drive letter indeed. Wasn't it the case with Raiden II for the PC?

Letter or which drive was actually plugged via analog cable to the sound system, can't test it from here. Keep us posted.

It might be worth it, for full XP compatibility as well as the official restoration of the multiplayer, to re-buy the game on Steam, I think it goes for $10.
