I've been listening to nothing but Cosmos. It moves from Border Down-esque jazz fusion to eerie ambience with constant ease. Best Goblin tribute band ever.jonny5 wrote:zombi-self titled

Same here. It's pretty good.P_HAT wrote:New Crystal Castles.
Also listening to Fever Ray. It's the solo album of Karen Dreijer from The Knife. Very good and gets better with each subsequent listen.

McKlusky - The Difference Between Me & You Is That I'm Not on Fire
The Depreciation Guild - new LP

The Depreciation Guild - new LP
The very definition of a "grower" album. I bought it, was underwhelmed, loaded into itunes and traded it in at the local record store. Wish I hadn't.P_HAT wrote: Also listening to Fever Ray. It's the solo album of Karen Dreijer from The Knife. Very good and gets better with each subsequent listen.

Admiral Angry - A Fire to Burn Down the World
Holy shit is this heavy. It's a shame their guitarist died, it would have been really great to watch this band progress.

Been listening to the Who lately. Don't know why it took me so long to listen to all their stuff, it's incredible. The Who Sell out is amazing and my favorite album of theirs, but everything up through Quadrophenia is great. After that not so much.

I'm working on a new website, which will have a bit about math rock on it, so I'm revisiting all of my favorite Don Caballero and other related stuff.

Aye, nothing beats listening to Das Ich whilst reading the official Touhou manga.
P.S. Man, is it a shame there seems to be no proper version of Des Satans neue Kleider on YouTube. Only some ponce remix...

Xiu Xiu - Everything.
Finally got to see them live on Sunday. An absolutely awesome experience. Everything was so different to the albums, and so well taylored to a live setting, from the throbbing death-bass to the clanging of scrap metal. Even the calmer songs seemed to have been fed through a meat grinder. It made me realise how much I fucking hate going to gigs where they just play the album back to you. Case in point: Radiohead. I used to adore that band, until I saw the limp excuse for their live show back in 2003. I might have well have listened to their singles very loud while surrounded by middle class white twats. Rarrr rarrr rarrr.

Augury - Fragmentary Evidence
FInally checked out this band's second album, and I must say I am disappoint
Their first album called Concealed was a bloody fucking masterpiece. Such a shame. Just read now that long time drummer and bassist both left after the recording for this album was finished. Oh well, at least we got one good album from them.
If anyone is interested Check out the songs:
The Lair of Purity
Cosmic Migration
Both from their first album.

lol on the Radiohead comment. So is xiu xiu British? Because if they're American, like I thought, that's quite a tour for an indie band.MX7 wrote:Xiu Xiu - Everything.
