I'm a big time Metal Slug fan...Sammy released Dolphin Blue years ago....Question:
Is there a console port of this game anywhere??? Must I emulated or buy an expensive Sammy customized console to play this? Its killing me, I really want to play this in the comfort of my own home.
I guess the only other method is buying a cheap atomiswave board and the cart, and knocking up a basic supergun, as you could ignore the video and plug the AW board into a VGA monitor directly.
I owned it for a while and wasn't too wild about it honestly. I kept asking myself why I would unplug my MVS board with Metal Slug in it to play this? Sorry to piss on your thread, but I'm just being honest with ya. I said screw the haters too when I bought it and then was like hmmmmmmm. Its not terrible, but its not Metal Slug either.
I thought this game was way more fun than any Metal Slug game (but I'm not a Metal Slug fan). It's also very cheap to try out and it's not like the Atomiswave motherboard is very expensive either if you have an arcade or supergun to play on. Demon Front and a PGM is even cheaper but yeah, it's fairly boring to me too.
Boring? I own both Dolphin blue and Demon front and they are far from boring let me tell you.

Where could I E-mail or mail to if I want to address my ideas and Opinions?
It all depends on whether you'll like it...give it a try first in emulation to warrant/justify purchasing the real arcade hardware/software deal that is Dolphin Blue.
Welcome to slowdown city. I think it plays more like Contra than Metal Slug, but in a bad way. Riding the Dolphin looks pretty awesome, but the sloooooowdooooown is pretty abhorrent.
I bought Demont Front a while back and I still enjoy it; it has a ton of secrets. It's missing metal slug's vehicules; but otherwise it's a really fun slug clone.
You guys are all on drugs. I just got Dolphin Blue through today and it's fantastic, a massive breath of fresh air for the genre and a really (really) nice change from Metal Slug.
Sorry folks, but Metal Slug is a series that's gone really stale - Dolphin Blue is the perfect run and gun antidote. After reading threads both here and on AO, I'm pleasantly surprised indeed!

what format are you playing it on? PC? GUN? Atomiswave?

Slowdown? Are you talking on actual hardware? I emulated it to see if it was worth picking up, and was actually quite impressed. Didn't run into any slowdown though.. If the actual hardware slows down, that's a deal-breaker.

It's got a few moments, but they're few and far between and certainly nothing beyond the norm. You don't really notice too much.
Sounds like folks here have been going for the emulation, which is known for being pretty darn slow across the board.

I'm referring to my experiences from owning an Atomiswave mobo with the Dolphin Blue cart aka Lord of the Slow.

Okay, so I credit fed a bit today - I can only make it 3.5 on a credit but I've only started playing since last night so not too bad. There's only five stages it seems too.
There is some slowdown in places, such as those with lots of big explosions, but I don't get the criticism for it. There's not as much in say, the original Metal Slug.
