But he doesn't listen to Tool: can't remember title . That is suspicious.

Negura Bunget - Virstele Pamintului

Pretty ace. They're playing here on Tuesday, as well! Haven't been to a good gig in ages.

The new LP by The Fall is on currently and it's an absolute monster. Nice and loud with plenty of interesting stuff going on, far fewer straight rockers and no shit covers this time. At least not yet anyway.

Each new LP by The Fall is an important event in my life.

Conan - Horseback Battle Hammer

Best metal of '10 thus far. So heavy. So so heavy.

Been listening to a lot of the Police lately, mainly Synchronicity. Great stuff. A while ago I was listening to Octopus and Free Hand by Gentle Giant quite a bit. Weird stuff, but some of it's pretty great.

Heh, Van der Graaf Generator, Gentle Giant and King Crimson are pretty much the only British arty bands of the era I consider worth listening to these days. Well, I do listen to the stuff like High Tide too, but High Tide weren't THAT arty.

Tokyo Jihen-Sports

Altogether a great album with a number of really catchy tracks. Shiina Ringo's vocals are spot on both in Japanese and English. Also Kameda's bass is pretty damn good. Definitely a band that deserves more attention outside Japan.

Hour of 13 - The Ritualist - Totally awesome. I'm enjoying it just as much as their first album.

Yeah, that's pretty awesome. You know shit is heavy when you have to turn the volume up because the tone is so low.

I could do without the first track but I think the rest is gold.

Morita Doji - Goodbye - I've been slowly getting into folk recently (very slowly), and this is absolutely amazing, even better than Hako Yamazaki AMA.

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works Vol II - Put this on to go to sleep to. Woke up, thinking my earplug was a wasp. Pulled it out and tried to kill it by crushing it in my ashtray. Then my skin started burning and I ran downstairs where I realised that I probably hadn't been stung. Went back to bed. Album is alright (2/5).

I agree completely. Adult was alright but Variety was a complete mess. Guess that's what you get when you let the other members of the band write the songs  Oh well, I'm enjoying Sports enough to make up for it. :D

I can't enough of Hyper-On Experience's Deaf In The Family EP right now.

Early 90s UK breakbeat hardcore/rave at its greatest. It's insanely well produced, and like the soundtrack to some strange enjoyable nightmare.

Here's a highlight on Youtube.

Cows - Cunning Stunts. I was at their gig in the nineties. Yes, they really were that good. No, the videos and albums really don't quite capture that phenomenon. Cracking album nonetheless.
Immolation - Dawn of Possession. Jolly fellows.

"Listen to Absu!" almost became my (incredibly poor) catchphrase; shortly after this album came out I attended a ridiculous three-day piss-up at a friend's house in Bristol and apparently wouldn't shut up about playing it.
