Dio has rocked for a long, long time,
Now it's time for him to pass the torch.

Metal lost a great voice and front man. RJD was one of kind and though he's gone, his contributions and music will be around for as long as music exists.

No one would have thought that decrepit turd would've outlived Dio, but oh well.

Gave Heaven and Hell a couple listens today for the first time in years, it's a hell of an album and the man was one hell of a vocalist and lyricist. I've passed up several chances to see him perform live, and I regret it now. RIP

Ah, man. I didn't even know he'd been ill... was revisiting Rainbow's Rising just the other day, as I'll no doubt continue to.

One of my greatest mistakes was never pulling a Detroit Rock City to see him play live. R.I.P.

No, no, no! Damn. Why him of all... I was really looking forward for a next album, I liked The Devil you know and last year I went to see one of his concerts with Heaven & Hell (essentially, Black Sabbath), which was awesome. He still had a great voice. I keep revisiting his albums from time to time. And his Rainbow contributions. I loved the particular quirks and twists he put on his lyrics, are quite strange and mysterious. Holy Diver, Sacred Heart, Last in Line, Neon Knights, The Sign of the Southern Cross (classic), Falling off the edge of the world, Heaven & Hell (timeless classic), heck, even Wishing Well and more, more.

What an awful day... Damn.

I feel like Ozzie has had one foot in the grave for a loooong time. Dio was an absolute shredder, and still making relevant music. I had no idea he was ill, and this is indeed a bummer.

That said, I still prefer Ozzie-era Sabbath.

I heard about a year ago that he was having some kind of stomach problem, but it was only as a passing note.
I just went through and found my Heaven and Hell vinyl, think it'll get another spin tomorrow.

It's an utterly despicable thing, but hopefully they'll be barely noticeable. They'll almost certainly get bored and leave if people respond to the affront graciously/ignore the sad cunts.

This struck me as simply ironic. Dio (and a lot of other rock at the time, Judas Priest comes to mind) makes a point out of raging conseravtive fundies, and now the fundies fight back. At least Dio won't have to put up with it.

I'm surprised Acid King can't celebrate this. Where's your libertarian credentials, man?
