A real shame we couldn't get Flying Shark working DEL - I was really looking forward to that one.

And sorry I missed your send off too DEL.

Anyway - me and CHI installed Turbo Force on Thursday, and it's a silly amount of fun, and a lot tougher than it looks. All of you hit up a few credits if you get a chance – The high score thread for it is here. The main thing to remember is that firing depletes the power of your only weapon, so only fire when you need to. And leave picking up the bomb power ups until you really need them!

Because of that there's a fair amount of strategy relating to pushing your score that tiny extra fraction, and because so few people have played this game, there's a lot to learn.

For example:

• Does using certain forms of the 'random bomb' mean you don't get points for what it kills?
• What dictates the four different versions of the level 2 boss - it seems like more than rank?
• How long until CHI destroys my score?

Not surprised there is no real strategy thread, superplay, or huge highscore table on this shitty game. Hard to imagine this game was produced by the same Game Makers behind Aero Fighters.

EDIT 7 - Sorry I didn't get the time to say "see you soon" to Mills, spadgy & Mr Monks.

EDIT 8 - Mr CHI - there was never a problem with the sound on my Flying Shark board. Its a bit strange.

I'm playing Batrider's Advance Coarse and a bit of Speshul Coarse over here in the corridors of POWER.

No worries - just let us know whenever you're passing through London with time to stop by at Casino!

Funny you say that. There was never a problem with the sound on my Turbo Force board, but in Casino's crusty cab, with its volume at anything above minimum, the inside of the cab hums (A problem that only kicks in once the service door is closed!). Even the joystick's movement noises appear to create a humming sound from the speakers! Of course, according to The Engineer, it can't possibly be the cab!

Yeah i was wondering where that sound was coming from until CHI pointed it out. I don't blatently hate the game, as it a bit of a challenge its just a bit MARMITE for my liking lol.

I might do Wednesday or Thursday this week, but depending on workload I'm not sure which it will be.

And yeah - maybe Turbo Force will explode - it's cool in exactly the same way explosions are... Fucking cool.

Well, the decent monitor in the Progear cab was short lived. Difficulty is still on the correct value but now you only have 90% of the screen to work with, the aspect ratio is off, and the colours roll. I love Casino.

Didn't notice any problems with the sound playing Turbo Force, though I only gave it 3 credits.

Firstly - sorry about my absence of late people - I moved house at the weekend so no internet, and living out of boxes/every non-working hour dedicated to packing and unpacking.

Anyway - right now Ravid, it's just Turbo Force, DDP II, all the usuals, and... CHI... what did you get installed in the end?

So Taylor - did you submit your Turbo Force score? I guess I'll go find out now!

@spadgy (cont. from DSII score thread) -
I've been dropping in every now and then as my girlfriend is running a bookshop not far from the ol' casino - saw some fella giving Proear a good run just over a week ago. I'll be down this Friday between 6 - 7.

Any new cave would be good for me as I guess I'm a "fanboy"... I'm still keeping an eye out for a bare Deathsmiles PCB, but apart from the MBL I missed on ebay in Feb (about £360 - yikes, pretty cheap), I ain't seen nuthin', so I still haven't got anything to offer on the PCB front. They had that weird football game hooked up to a 360 last year, would there be any way to put one of the ports in there?

Whilst I'm sure y'all are looking for something a bit more modern (and seem to have plans in hand), I've got Ketsui in my hands once again - I'd be happy to lend it for a few months if there is interest in it, etc. etc (would need it back in time for R3PLAY in Blackpool in November, as it's going there). Course, since every man and his dog has the Xbox 360 port, perhaps it wouldn't get much lovin'...

I think Ketsui would be well received, even people who don't post here that regular Casino know it's awesome.

I guess what you need is a game that everyone gets hooked on, like Pork. Landlord, CHI, MHK and I really sessioned that game. It was fun.
Ketsui is a bit more masochistic but I know Landlord is keen to play it again.

Well, if you want it, one of The Boys(tm) e.g. CHI should drop me a PM to work out details, and I'll bring it down whenever I'm next down in Town!

I've got the port to keep me company at home, so won't miss it too much.
