If you search for Flame Zapper Kotsujin on Google Images, this picture is the 7th result:


Does anyone know what happened to it? I guess in 1998 it would have been cross compatible or built purely for Windows but I'd imagine knowledge of doujins from that time frame is a bit patchy at best? Would love to know what happened to it, the first one is a quality game.

Ah, 1998-1999... Era of Kamui, Excess Fraction and others.

Yeah, back then the knowledge was quite non-existent, hell, over here Internet was still a dream or something super-rare and cellphones were still "wow" and quite big.

Do you have the kanji of the game? Perhaps running a search and looking in Yahoo Auctions might lead to something? Maybe you could also scan Archive.org if the guy had a site that lasted long enough for that thing to catch it.

edit: Holy shit the original for PC-98 is awesome. Damn, I totally missed this one.

It is a great game isn't it! We've been playing the score attack mode on it this week for a little score compo I organise at another forum, gets really fun when you start trying to get as many CO2 chips as possible. I came very close to 1CCing the main game yesterday too, gonna try a bit more today so I can add it to my small list!

I'm afraid I don't know the kanji, all I have to go on is that picture - the forum that it is on is Japanese, the picture isn't actually on the linked page and there are 700 pages in the thread..So yeah I'm being a bit lazy and seeing if anyone else knows anything first. If anyone can translate the kanji I'd be very appreciative.

I didn't know Kamui was released so early either, great work for such an early date.
