The Foresights and Tainted Staffs will be available in the store once you reach a high enough tier of shop items (you may need to pass the "More Expensive Items" and "Glasses Inventory" bills to get them to show up.)

As for transmigration, once you get into the post-game stuff you'll be doing it often once the grinding for the high-level stuff begins. I've generally been doing transmigrations around level 2,000 or so on my characters. Mana gets to be pretty easy to come by once you get to that point, so there's no point in doing anything less than Genius level. By the time you've leveled up your equipment enough and got Cave of Ordeals 3 available, getting your levels back up shouldn't be a problem.

That's impressive. I think I was close to 100 hours at the end there. I would have thought that around 70 was the minimum to get past the final boss, but that's just a rough estimate and of course there are so many different ways to play this game.

I'm still plugging away at Fire Emblem SD (hard x5). This game is such a different experience when you crank up the difficulty. I absolutely love it.

I ended up with a quite small group of characters that I took on to the field at a time, often just five, so they leveled up reasonably quickly. Also Laharl and Etna were built as tanking beasts and I had a couple of glass cannon mages to do their thing and then get thrown back onto the base panel for protection. I think this helped to make the playtime shorter than average.

To Vexorg,
Thanks for that, I was considering transmigrating a few level 100 toons but it seems I'm a bit premature from what you say there. I'll keep them as they are for a while and then move them over when I get them leveled up a lot.

Also I accidentally stumbled upon Disgaea 2 on the PSP today for £10 new. Needless to say I picked it up with haste but I don't think I'm even going to put it in the drive for a while.

Or I could put it in the UMD and then I'd have a portable Disgaea 1 + 2 machine with no room for anything else. Ever.

Well maybe Beats.

I'm playing Assault Suits Leynos 2 as an interim until I get Hyper Duel to work. For some reason I'm not unlocking anything on my second playthrough despite getting A's on everything. Bah.

Also cheap-ass enemies...

I do find that for the most part I end up with a relatively small group of characters that gets all the use, with the rest being largely ignored, Generally, I end up with:

Laharl - Main tank/damage dealer
Unarmed fighter - Also a good damage dealer, not quite as strong
Sword fighter - Good when it gets better weapons, so-so before that. Eventually these two end up being Majins.
Ninja - Highest movement you can get with 3 accelerators, and can dodge just about anything, but when things do hit they can do some damage. This has the side effect of being able to dodge 95% of heal/espoir spells as well, so you may need to keep an herb or two handy in case of status effects.
Flonne: Magic user/healer. Kind of weak to start out, but once she learned all the attack and heal spells from pupils she ended up becoming the only magic user that got used 75% of the time.
Thief: Doesn't get used much, but still needed. Start this and level it up as another class to get it a reliable 3x3 attack and some levels for CoO3. You'll need somewhere around level 2,500 or so in order to be able to think about stealing rank 40 items from item gods, and around 4,500 or so to steal from the high-level bosses.
Etna: I tend not to use her much.

Other story characters: Aside from Thursday, I rarely develop these much.

I'm a pretty big hockey fan. However, I'm not a fan of the current Gen of consoles so I often feel like I'm missing out on some of the best Hockey video games. Now that EA has stopped releasing PC versions of their already stripped down NHL series, I was questioning the unthinkable and buying a current gen console.

Then I found THIS

A completely modded NHL 2004 PC with great graphics, super tweaked gameplay, up to date rosters, and all the correct boards, crowds, scoreboards, jerseys, goalie masks + pads. All of this makes for a more realistic hockey sim that EA has never been able (or tried?) to produce.

Often with the NHL series you can learn the game in a week and then never lose even on the highest difficulty. Not the case here, I've been playing for a while now and have maybe won 2/10 matches. It's tough! As far as I'm concerned, there's never been a better Hockey game.

The community has released another complete mod which recreates the 96-97 NHL season almost perfectly. This was a great time for hockey and is now the main mod I play.

On top of that, there are various hamachi servers to play online.

Did I mention SM-Liiga?

This game just might make me fail my exams... yes it's that good.

Gears of War 2. My first playthrough was on Hardcore and now I'm playing Insane. I don't get the rabid love of this game. As a single player game, it's a B at best. Must be the multiplayer.

The online play is often too laggy for competitive modes, but it made me appreciate the controls a lot more which then carried back over to the campaigns. The campaign for the first is better (has a more unified feel and darker atmosphere while also having less of the vehicle, gimmicky, on-rails sections).

Mr. Do (CV and SNES)
Mr. Do's Castle CV
Ghost House SMS
Castlevania Rondo of Blood Wii VC
Mega Man 10 WiiWare

SNES Mr. Do is definitely the better port, but I like the CV version as well. The alpha monsters go all over the place in the CV one. I noticed that the extra music was changed in the SNES version due to it being rip offed from Astro Boy in the original. The CV version changed the music as well, but it's a completely different tune rather than a tune that sounds somewhat like the Astro Boy tune like the SNES one.

CV Mr. Do's Castle was released later in the CVs life than Mr. Do and it shows. Much closer to the arcade version with most of the elements intact, even the unicorns turning blue and splitting. Animation is smoother in comparison to Mr. Do CV, as well.

I'll have to pick up the original on the cheap sometime. Probably my biggest problem with the single player is the uneven difficulty and the half assed turret and vehicle sections. I understand that they wanted to introduce some variety but whats the point of having a mechanic that you don't bother fully exploiting? Playing it on the hardest setting now makes the harder initial setting seem even worse, simply because the damage is scaled to the point where you actually have to use cover properly and you can't just spam the chainsaw bayonet on the crawly guys. It has the dual benefit and problem of making the on foot sections better and the turret sections worse.

congrats for getting the game, it's by far the best 2D fightan game along with Blazblue
i was lucky to give a try of the PS2 port a day before release date, i'm wondering if the update (Current Code) will come out on PC
speaking of Blazblue, the developers of MB are planning a 2D HD game to surpass Blazblue itself

anyway, these days i'm playing:

Bayonetta
Soul Calibur 4
Tekken 6
Disgaea (PS2)

i can't stop playing Disgaea, it's too good

playing some mame run n gunners and beat em ups, inc double dragon 1 and 2. 1CCed DD1 easyly (its the only 1cc i have on a real arcade cab.) playing DD2 and i can easyly see that the devs wised up to the originals faults that made it so easy (ie the elbow) and made it allot harder. Still its a bit of a ripp off that u get only 1 life per credit instead of 2 on DD1, Still to play DD3 though

Can anybody recommend other beat em ups that are good for 1 credit play working onto a 1CC? and not just a button mashing money sink

Yes!

Also:
Ninja Baseball Bat Man
Cadillacs & Dinosaurs
The Punisher
Undercover Cops (Go for the Japanese version.)

I think these are all pretty learnable, anyway. Haven't really played them in a while.

Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Been a good time revisiting this game. I've got the 4 dungeons done now, so just heart pieces and masks and the final "place" left to go.

Still bashing away at Disgaea PSP. I now own Majorly and Prier (I think she's called) but I couldn't even deal one point of damage to the big ass demon dude so need to work on some levels.

Working my way down a Legendary Longinus now but really need to sort out my thief for the rank 40 steal at the bottom. I stupidly made a crappy class one thief and he is lvl 100 and incapable of doing damage.

I think I'll farm for some more legendary pieces of equipment and then level them up to the max so that I can kit out some level 1 toons to do some serious damage from day one.

What a game.

Currently I'm playing Super Mario Galaxy in anticipation of SMG2 (never finished it when it first came out, and I seriously doubt I'll ever do the 120-star clear). I also picked up 3D Dot Game Heroes and I'm playing it in short bursts. Picross 3D is also fun, but I'm not that great at it.

Puzzle money exchanger - MVS

Recommended by fire-bug. I enjoy it but on standard settings I can only get to level 13 on solo play. Its really a mind bender. Music is really great, very vibrant colours. Amazing its only 78megs.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
