This one is pretty much an enhanced port, so merged with the original Sky Stage thread.

I'm a little bummed that the "full" content will be on a PSP disk. I would rather have the full XBOX 360 physical release and an optional download of Skystage for people who don't want the full release. Seems like it would be a better idea to me.

I just want to play the XBLA demo. I still don't think this will be good, but I've been wrong before.

This looks so much like Shikigami you'd think Alfa System developed it.

MOSS is behind this game.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Okay.. Fuck this game, Fuck SNK (and Moss too) alltogether. Are they fuckin` kidding me? Wasn't it originally supposed to appear on japanese PSN/XBLA? What a load of fucking bullshit. Fuck handhelds, home ports all the way along with original boards!

I think it still is, though presumably it won't include the extra stuff on the PSP version.

I don't usually spend this much on a game, and perhaps I'll be disappointed, but I went ahead and took the plunge on pre-ordering Neo Geo Heroes Ultimate Shooting from NCSX. Hopefully, I'll get that soundtrack too. If anyone is interested, I ordered from NCSX: http://www.shopncsx.com/nghultimateshooting.aspx

Here are my impressions I posted at cave-stg a few months ago:
This is out now and...pretty much everywhere. HEY has 3 of em and Mikado got 2 (yet passed on DFK BL). You can set them up back-to-back like with the fighters for VS play so that two can enjoy this turd simultaneously. Ugly graphics, plain bullet patterns, enemies that looked like they came from STG Maker and the same scoring system you see in most 3D action games (enemy chaining with a very generous time between kills).

Another winner from SNK Playmore.

So after Raiden IV, Moss have lost their ideas and come up with a plain game??? Can't believe it. I just hope the Xbox LIVE version be a better one.

well, the game is like a mix between shikigami no shiro and trizeal actually only medalling is ridiculously easy and the game is too, its alot uglier than both those aswell.
you also chain enemies ala devil may cry rather than dodonpachi, didnt seem fun at all and ive heard thru the grapevine its been maxed out already?

this cant hold a candle to MOSS's other games, raiden 3 & 4 were good games (and 4 looks amazing on type-x), dunno what happened or what they were thinking with this.

Yep, I have to agree. This just looks crass so far compared to raiden or something like shikigami, I too am rather confused as to how this came about at all - I'd be suprised is snk/playmore was waving around that much cash with the kof franchise?

... Then again are their character brands and pachinko tie ins so valuable as to spawn this venture simply as a brand exercise, could this explain why someone would order 4 lots of this, and no DFK BL?

... It just seems such a hard sell from the 'outside', and there seems no character to game as of yet...

I can assure you that the PC version (hardly a port) of III, on a tated CRT (which I assume makes it graphically identical to the arcade version), doesn't look too shabby either. Not mind-blowingly amazing, but way better than average as far as polygonal shmups go. Pretty gorgeous in places (Stage 2) even, thanks to some subtle touches. Shame it doesn't support higher resolutions, but with a CRT it's not a problem.

According to the latest Famitsu 360, it seems that Moss was responsible for development on this failure.

Trailer right here for NeoGeo Heroes if you haven't already seen it.

If Skystage is a little plain/easy it might be more friendly for the fans of the fighting genre who try it out of morbid curiousity. My PSP has been getting so much love lately, this game looks sick I can't wait to get my grubby mitts on it.

I hope they go back and add in the extra stuff to make the XBLA version of Skystage NeoGeo Heroes. Don't understand why the platform the game was announced for first (wasn't it announced as an XBLA game before even the arcade version was brought up?) would get the short end of the stick.

Yes, but its usually after the first version of the game has already been released (like for instance the current arcade version). I'm irked the PSP is getting a superior edition when the XBLA version isn't even out.

On my last trip to Hey in Akihabara, I had my cousin take this video of me giving Sky Stage a shot. I should have gone with Kyo or Terry, but instead I chose Athena. I tried getting the hang of her teleport feature, but I ended up dying real quick with this game. At first glance it does look a lot like Shikigami, but there is no bullet grazing. I was hoping to find this game at another arcade later on during my stay in Japan, but when my daughter caught a bad fever, I lost most of my second week of my stay and didn't get the chance. It didn't seem like a terrible game, but I'd like to try it a second time to form a real opinion on it. It wasn't a big disappointment like Raiden 3 was (4 was a sigh of relief with the reintroduction of the toothpaste cannon), and it didn't strike me as a boring turd like Trizeal, Chaos Field, or XII Stag.

sorry but those games are all better than skystage mate.. chaos field is kinda close on the oh-man-I-cant-believe-this-was-released scale tho..

So has anybody picked this up, (Neo Geo Heroes) on UMD or PSN? Just wondering about impressions. I went ahead and picked up the UMD version from NCSX. Should be here tomorrow. :D
