RQ: Assault Suit Leynos 2

Post by chimpp »

Isn't this essentially a shmup? Anybody know how to obtain all of the assault suits? How about A, B, and C-type armor? I can finish off the game but I never manage to unlock more than just a small handful of assault suits, even if I make it all the way through the arena levels.

its hard to unlock everything.. you have to do it on your first run too..

basically:

go fast
dont get hit (dont allow your comrades to get hit either in the levels where they appear)
preserve as much ammo as possible
kill lots of enemies

easy as pie 8)

It's like a cross between Metal Slug gameplay and Front Mission 3 customization. Hard as hell. Try playing the prequel on the Mega Drive (known as "Target Earth" in the US). It's mech customization is much simpler since you only have to focus on the weapons and not have to worry about armor plating, weight, and other other realistic factors. And the prequel is much, much longer. It was probably one of my all-time favorite MD games ever and I always played it using an invincibility trick. But ASL2 is pretty damn fun as well. But it's so frustrating! The menus are all in English, but the storyline, dialog, and instruction is in Japanese. Understanding some of the important items in the in-game, mech-customization menu requires that you have read the manual.
