Are there any good PSP danmaku shmups??
I've been searching high and low. Maybe in all the wrong places? Are there any good danmaku shmups out there?

Nopes.
Kinda, if you count the homebrew-possibilities of PSX and emulated gaming.

Re: Are there any good PSP danmaku shmups??
To answer the ops question i would say to use an emulator or buy some horizontal shmups. Space invaders extreame is good i hear. BTW Isnt darius burst out for psp?
due to how the screen is i think of the psp as really only a horizontal shmup machine. This made me look at other older handhelds that have a vertical screen thats suited to playing vert shmups. I come across the wonderswan (and/ or colour) which can be played hori and vertically. For vert shmups all i could find out about is a rare semi manic vert thats priced at over a hundred quid (cant remember the name).
I know im high jacking this thread abit but can anyone enlighten me as to what wonderswan shmups are the worth gatting? (cheap games not over prised collectors items)
Also how good is the wonderswan as a shmup machine and which is your favorite?

Well I would like to say start google searching and you can get your answer regarding your shmups. And I can also suggest if nothing can happens then use emulator. Emulator can solved your all the problem and you have no need to searching here and there for "danmaku shmups". But one thing I have to tell you is PSP is vertical screen shmups.
Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

You can run dodonpachi emulated or any other psone games for that matter.
Takes some googling, hacking and configuring but it is woth it.
I think I got a lot of info from a topic here a long time ago.

As for some PSP homebrew danmaku shmup titles, you could try your hand at R-Gear (a crazy danmaku indeed), Callisto version 0.2 (with two stages), rRootage & Noiz2sa.

Does Star Soldier count? I love that game.
FinalBurnAlpha runs Donpachi, DoDonpachi, Dangun Feveron and several Cave hardware games pretty darn well. CPS2PSP runs Dimahoo Progear Mars Matrix and more.
