There's a lot of overlap in their discography, and Jello Biafra's shtick isn't particularly deep. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the only album you really need to own is Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables.

Completists and purists will probably beg to differ.
The Last Temptation of Reid by Lard. Listen to it. In this "machine punk" territory it's up there with Big Black's Songs About Fucking and God is LSD's Spirit of Suicide.

Yeah, it sucks when your heroes turn out to be assholes don't it. Oh well.
News to me (but I haven't been following him too eagerly). Is it still okay to like Nomeansno, though? Are they still cool?

Clearly, this means I should make you a mix of awesome tracks by them. I'll get working on that.

Speaking of mixes here's an insane DJ mix they did recently over a stream. It's 12 HOURS long. What a range of material too.

Might be a bit of a stretch on my part. It's like Ruins mixed with opera and game music. I love it. The girls on it sing in that same nonsence phonetic language.
Koenjihyakkei, is basically Ruins (same dudes) with more instruments (lots of keys), operatic voices, also in zheul speak.

check it out, 8) "Viva Koenji" is a good starting album

True story: The first time in my life that I heard Nomeansno was a couple weeks ago. It sounded like some dudes just graduated music school and found drugs (speed). Not interested.

I've been listening to AC/DC all day. Let There Be Rock, TNT and Powerage.

Hmmm... I liked those in the 6th grade, back around 1980. Honestly can't imagine listening these days.

They don't sing like on speed, though.

I can tell you about Flaming Lips: Yoshimi Battles the Giant Robots . It is really a nice album among my favourites. I listen all the songs of it lot many times. Still if I sit for music listening I can never forgot that album.
Modest Mouse: Building Nothing out of Something is also a cool album. I like the music style of it. Its different from others.

Yeah, those are a couple of my favorites right there. I think I started this thread some years back precisely because I kept listening to those two albums over and over, so I needed something new! I got that and much more.

Comanechi - Crime of Love - Jesus, this is amazing. Guitar and Drum 2 piece punky noise rock with the vocalist from PRE, with grungy, Mudhoney-esque riffs. I really like PRE, but this just seems so much more together. Amazing I say!
