Yep, no termination switch at all. Its on every other model though: Plus, Super, GX, etc.

How would I do this resistor mod?

If Brightness is the only problem, you can always resistors to the output RGB lines by yourself. Cheap and easy to do.

you have to try which resistors work best, you can try 75 ohm or even 120 or 220 ohm. They just go into the three R/G/B lines (into the cable, not into the machine).

OK, I could do that pretty easily. I can make a patch cable out of some spares I have lying around. Just to recap, I should get the following:

3x 75 ohm resistors
3x 120 ohm resistors
3x 220 ohm resisters

Each of these would go on the R - G - B cables, ignoring the SYNC?

Thanks for your advice! (Again)

not all of them of course. Start with the 75ohm resistors and if the picture's still to bright, step up a bit.
ignoring the SYNC?
When lowering the signal in RGB cables (e.g. from a Mega Drive), I usually only work on the R/G/B lines. On a RGB signal the sync signal does not carry any luminance information, so you should be fine leaving the sync untouched.

I've used most of the models. I'd recommend the Emotia Plus, Super, Super GX. I wouldn't recommend the model I'm posting about here because its the only one that has given me any issues.

Good luck!

Hello,

So, I've given up on getting this old Emotia working. If anyone wants this unit and is willing to pay the shipping cost for it to be sent out to them (I'm guessing its about $10 or so), PM me.

Thanks again to all the people that offered their time and assistance.

Do you happen to have the original power supply? I'd definitely be interested in that.

Sorry, but no, this would come with just the Emotia. This probably can be corrected with resistors, as Fudoh stated above.

Necro-bump baby! Hey, I finally took a picture of the inside of my emotia for you. Of course:

a) it comes nearly three years too late and
b) it turns out you have the original while I have the "super emotia", so what do you know?

I thought I'd leave a link here though for anyone googling emotia problems. Super Emotia board looks like this:

I can take closer pics of any area in particular if you'd like. My post is somewhat selfish as my emotia still doesn't work correctly and I'll be asking for help with that, but will have to take a pic/video of it in action as I can't really properly describe what it looks like. More to come. Hopefully without a three year delay.
