I backlit the Gameboy Pocket myself using a screen kit from noninfinite and this guide by a user named Bibin at 8bit Collective.

I'm still working on the contrast to get a darker image.

@PC Engine Fan X!:
As Jockel already mentioned there was a model that came out in Japan simply called the Gameboy Light. Sexy, indeed.

@Jockel:
I did get lucky there when I made the purchase. The console is in overall good shape with a light tint of yellow by the power switch. I'm going to give the machine a small scrub down to see if anything changes.

Cool stuff man. I'm totally rubbish at tech stuff but I wouldn't mind having a crack at some old Gameboy. Then again I have no free time in the world whatsoever.
Better stop browsing this forum in fact.

I've got an original Gameboy Light sitting around doing nothing here awaiting sale. Needs a respray though, the silver is quite (very) tarnished.

Hm any idea on the price? I might be interested if it's cheap enough.

Been waiting for so long and my birthday present is finally complete - my Sega Genesis came in! After rooting through various eBay lots and deals, I've started my collection - all for around $150!

Image

Here's a wide shot of my baby - the Model 1 Genesis. 2 controllers and 21 games in my main collection.

Image

Thought this'd be a nice angled shot, but all it shows is that I need to dust the Genesis already! Oh well, it showcases Gunstar Heroes pretty well.

Image

A nice clean shot of all the games. Only two complete in box, and there are quite a few with some label damage...but they all work, so I'm not complaining :)

Image

Here's a Model 2 Genesis that came with the Model 1, along with various other controllers and other games that came in lots (including a second copy of RKA...wow x_x) Strider Returns came in a lot with Strider. I promise.

Image

Couldn't finish this post without an action shot! The system runs like a dream.

EDIT: Also got Sonic 3 and Lightening Force on the way...I'll be sure to post pictures when they arrive.

You were the guy who had the Gley Lancer repro a couple pages back, right?

Man, I'd kill to have that right now. Too bad I don't have the $40 to spare...blew all my spare cash on the Genesis

Sweeeeeeeet! I want it too now! :D
Don't get me wrong its really cool (and so is you castlevania set) but the thing I'm not too hot on is that the limited stuff is just recycled from the korean limited set of DJ Max Portable 2. The US version of DJ Max contains stuff from both DJ Max Portable 1 and 2 and it just so happens that my favorite stuff is missing from the soundtrack and art book that are included. Still really cool though it only cost me $59 and its the best limited set I've ever seen and there is only 130 of them.

Maybe it's because i grew up with the NES and SNES later, but the Genesis sucks balls compared to the Super Nintendo and its lineup.

That's a nice Genesis setup you've got there. John Quixote.

When I first fired up that Genny cart of Lightning Force, it was a solid shmup title. Since Technosoft developed ThunderforceAC first as an arcade PCB, the expertise and knowledge gained from developing it sure helped out when developing Thunderforce IV for the Japanese Megadrive console (or better known as Lightning Force stateside).

Suppose if Technosoft did make a Thunderforce IV/Lightning Force arcade Jamma based PCB instead of the MD/Genny cart of the same name...the improvements to key scenes with slow-down would've vanished, a two player co-op would've cool to see implemented, and a few new twists 'n' spins to spice things up.

If you can get ahold of a Genesis Game Genie cheat device, you can use it to play them import MD games as well. I tried playing the MD shmup of Thunderforce III with a Genny Game Genie device in my Genesis model 1 console & it works like a charm. Of course, with a Majesco produced Sega Genesis 3 console, you can play MD TF-3 on it without the need for a GG device anyways.

You might want to check out your local Game Crazy stores to see what cool Sega Genny shmup titles they have in stock. Of course, it takes an "eagle eye" to spot them out of the many stacked piles of Genny carts.

The Sega Genesis Arcade Power Stick is an awesome joystick for your Genny shmupping needs...it's a huge monster that's bigger than the Genny 3 console in terms of sheer size. Very nice weighted metal base on the underside of it for support and stability.

Even the Sega Nomad handheld is quite notorious for eating six "AA" batteries by the handful (just like with the NEC Turbo Express and the Atari Lynx I & II-- both have a proven track record of eating up "AA" batteries like no tomorrow)...best to get an proper A/C adapter to power it up. A Sega Genny 3 A/C adapter will power up a Nomad handheld with no problems. On the average, getting about three to three & 1/2 hours of gameplay time on any of the three above listed handheld consoles is considered the norm these days.

Yeah, already arranged something: we agreed on an additional 15$ coupon code. Not much, but better than nothing, or better than sending it back getting a new one and paying customs a second time. Shit happens.

I just installed a 72cc bore kit tonight so hopefully I can get some better hill climbing ability. It was a pretty intimidating job since I've never seen the inside of an engine before, but I guess scooter engines are simple enough that I could learn as I went along. I still need to jet the carburetor and change the oil though. None of the shops in my area are willing to work on these Chinese scooters, so I have to do all the maintenance myself.

I heard that these Chinese GY6 engines don't take well to bore kits, but this thing was so damn cheap, I'll just buy a better scooter if/when this breaks down.

Get a motorbike dude - most fun you can have with your pants on.
I do agree, imo I would class a CG125 as motorbike as I personally own one to use for my commuting.

Nothing beats 100mpg I can easily squeeze 240 miles out of mine on around £13 of juice.

But it all comes without the annoying buzzing sound or chav tastic stereotype.

the guy who helped out *OOM-9* was talking about making a low res version.

2006 RSV factory, öhlins all-round, mag wheels, PC3, full titanium exhaust.. amongst a few of the upgrades, bike has everything...

..or almost everything, could use a set of carbon fibre fairings + tank 8) but who knows, gotta pimp the zx10r a little aswell.
the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..
