I picked this up off Koa here and I'm loving the game - but I don't get how to properly finish it. I've done both loops and then at the end of the second, after the brief dialogue, it sticks me back at the beginning of the final stage (and it recognises it as 'act 3' when you hit the pause button.)
Thing is, I finished the stage again and the same thing happens, back to the beginning of the final stage, act 3. Wtf? What special condition is there that lets me get to the TLB (I'm assuming that there is one.)
Any help appreciated. Kind of obscure this game (but great) just hoping someone might know cos google doesn't have jack all on it.

Re: Anyone finished Wonderswan Makaimura?
Need to pick up a special weapon to finish it I bet.
Re: Anyone finished Wonderswan Makaimura?
Never played it, but most likely you need to find the ultimate weapon. In Ghouls'n Ghosts you get it after beating the first loop and then opening a chest while wearing the golden armor. The Goddess of Battle appears and gives it to you. You can only fight the TLB if you have that weapon.

This one only has one kind of armor, the default one, but the conditions are the same as all the other GnG titles, get the special weapon on the second loop to finish it off. Good game, but the hit detection on landing on moving platforms is a bit off, not to mention the stage that tates.

You mean the vertical inferno stage or whatever it was called as stage 4?Bloodreign wrote:This one only has one kind of armor, the default one, but the conditions are the same as all the other GnG titles, get the special weapon on the second loop to finish it off. Ah I see. Crap, I have no idea what the special weapon is or where I might find it, especially as I can't read the Japanese at the end. The good news is it's somewhere on the last stage only rather than the entire game, because that's the section it keeps returning me to as 'act 3'.Bloodreign wrote:This one only has one kind of armor, the default one, but the conditions are the same as all the other GnG titles, get the special weapon on the second loop to finish it off. The game isn't that bad at all with regards to collision detection and stuff, although i only realised once I had the screen under a decent light source. It's actually a pretty sharp little game and very enjoyable. And the tate stage was terrific fun, really nice feature!

So... help!
I don't get it. Can't find anything 'special' on the level. There is one odd thing about the last stage though - right at the beginning theres a gargoyle thing on a platform. It does nothing but a few hits makes it crumble. It's the only one of its kind in the whole game, so I'm guessing it may have some significance. What though, I've no idea.
Help, please!

Re: Anyone finished Wonderswan Makaimura?
don't know if this helps but there's screenshots of the tlb and the ending over vgmuseum.com (link). according to the ending text you need to find the goddess ring, but in the screenshot it shows the person using the lance so maybe it's not a weapon like it is in ghouls and ghosts. it's probably in a chest or dropped from an enemy, i dunno just keep looking for it i guess..
Re: Anyone finished Wonderswan Makaimura?
the goddess ring is a weapon in the game that you can get on the last level. to get it you need to find all 3 chests and destroy the gargoyle statue, all without getting hit. the 1st chest is at the start of the level, all the way to the left (jump to activate it). the 2nd is atop the first ladder after the first gargoyle. the 3rd is where the second gargoyle is sitting. Make sure you have plenty of lives as if you get hit you need to kill yourself and start over.

Re: Anyone finished Wonderswan Makaimura?
And all done, thanks again guys. Great little game, really enjoyed it.
e_tank, there seemed to be a small discrepancy though regarding that gargoyle statue - it seemed to have no bearing on getting to the TLB. In fact, as you go after the chests, when you come back to destroy it, it's vanished anyway so there's nothing to break. It's wierd - it's got no relevance at all, like something that was meant to be developed but wasn't.
I found I only needed to get the bracelet and then proceed to kill the boss line up to get to the TLB - I'm not sure you had to do it without taking a hit either.
Still, you were hugely helpful mate, thanks again.
