Best place for a Japanese 360?

Post by DazTM »

I've just picked up Espgaluda II and Mushihime-Sama Futari as I understand they're region free, but I know this is just putting me on the slippery path to a Japanese 360 so I can experience all the region-locked goodness.

My question then is where do you guys get your Japanese machines from?

Cheers

Just bought an asian 360 from play asia which is the same region as a jap 360 however it works on 230v so no need for a stepdown transformer.

Just remember you will be charged about 20% import tax when the item is delivered :x

You might try http://www.videogameimports.com they had some used ones in stock at decent price, and thyre UK based. other than that, Play-Asia.com, but you may have to pay import duty if youre unlucky.

also, yeah, youll need ether a UK x360 psu from ebay, or a hefty stepdown converter, unless VGI supply them already with uk psus.

I keep my 360 about an arm's length away from my tv in a well-ventilated spot. It's probably the best place regardless of region.

I got mine off gumtree - £100 from what I remember, so it's worth checking. There are a few JTAG console around (ebay/gumtree) which from what I understand allows you to play imports... not sure about online though.

I got mine off ebay from a US seller, but those are few and far between.

cheers for the advice guys :)

I'm just really not up to spending a lot of cash on one as the machine itself is so unreliable.

I was able to buy mine off a fellow US member here. You may see one pop up in the Trading Section every now and then.

Good luck in getting one :)

Okay my 360 has turned up. Only downside is that it's been flashed so I can't play online. Am I missing out on any shmup related goodness because of this? I have a normal Pal machine for just playing online with.

Wait for the Platinum release of Futari if you want to get Black Label. Also get the US release or Japanese Platinum of DeathSmiles. Guwange is probably out for you as well.

If its not banned you could flash it back to stock firmware and hope you havnt been flagged for a ban. There is some DLC for a few shumps but nothing I would ever consider buying.

Ive never taken my JPN 360 online, don't think i'm really missing much as I have my PAL 360 for everything Xbox Live related anyway.

unfortunately it has been banned :(

I just wasn't too sure if you guys used the xbox live scoreboards for scores, or simply put them up here. It's going to be good getting into shmups again.

But hey, you can use the PAL machine to get Mushi BL, as it's region free. Just use the JP 360 for Ketsui, DOJ BLEX and whatever comes next.
