I'm playing CS on PC right now. Not sure how it became available. Don't worry, don't worry... I always support the games I like.

ha ha, I've felt pretty bad for the European players, they get CT when most serious players in the US and JP have completely dropped the game for the new version. Like what's the point of releasing it? But I guess Europe won't be seeing CS for a year or so, but still... :/

Yes, it's just a prototype of the faceplate. KanedaGS originally posted it on NeoGAF.
Here's the prototype on an actual Xbox (Sorry, didn't have an Elite around so you'll have to use your imagination or photoshop to see what it'll look like on one.)

Great, so now I have to blow $50 to help localization when I can't actually play localized games? Microsoft can kiss my ass with their region protection bullshit.

It isn't Microsoft in this case, it's entirely Aksys.

Taito Type X-2 (which CS runs on) is nothing more than a standard PC with embedded XP. It just uses hard drives with USB security dongles to load games. Basically someone either cracked the protection or got their hands on a copy without it.

Anyways, back on topic, I'm liking the LE package, will probably preorder it once gamestop lets me..

not even Aksys USA its Cave.co who have all the say on just about everything going on with the game, or at least thats my understanding of it. It all depends on if Cave think they have a buyer for the EU publishing or not.

Nothing is stopping Aksys from making their published game region free.

of course there is. The license agreement between the rights holder and the licensee includes such regulations. It's the same kind of agreement which forbids european DVD publishers to make their DVDs codefree or to include multi-language subtitles on chinese movies (just as an example).

Why would Cave go to the trouble of making games region free, then specifically declare they want them to be only catered to the US market? That doesn't make any sense.

Because some lawyer type probably told them they can make more money if they hold out for a European publisher to pay them more money to publish the game there, and they'd be less inclined to do so if people can just import the already-translated American copy.

I don't know about that. It wouldn't harm Aksys in any way to make it region free , only increase their sales of the US version , seeing as they won't publish it in europe.

And I guess any potential european publisher would have to licence it from cave themselves , wouldn't they ?

This whole region locking is just fucking stupid . The loyal fans get screwed over just because the publishers want to make a few extra bucks (doubt they make any from the current couple dozens of EU fans who import anyway ).

if it was my company and I thought I could sell the rights to publish it in the EU I would block the US version for use in the EU. Its just maths! You could argue a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush but i very much doubt Cave are about that if they sold it to the US they could sell it to the EU and make money.

Yeah, I doubt we'll see CS until next year. Though all the serious EU players will just import again, and expect not to be using the online features that much.

I will import CS however, but what do you mean by expect not to be using the online features that much???

Don't feel bad for us, we're used to being ripped off by import shops and custom services. We just don't mind it anymore, really.

Fixed.

Now I'd love to see a Cave game published in europe. It would probably don't go above 1500 sells for the whole EU zone. Then maybe they would realize that there's no market for shmups in europe and start freezoning all their stuff.

This PROVES they're girls!

You know, the one that gets the most grief(windia), looks like if she took that wig off, she may actually look alright. I think that wig is doing her no favors.

I like mousey girls. The only girl that still bugs me is Rosa because she has the same expression in every pic, like "I wish I was getting porked right now, and not by one of these mouthbreathers"

Yeah they would look much better without the cheap plastic-rugs, kinda in a milf-like way.
You can tell they're cosplaying for the first time and they don't appreciate these dresses , like aksys just picked some random people off the street .
